최근 전국적으로 공무원을 사칭해 물품 구매를 유도하는 보이스피싱과 공문서 위조 사기가 확산되면서, 파주시가 관내 납품업체와 시민들을 대상으로 각별한 주의를 당부하고 나섰다.

이번 사기 범죄는 실제 재직 중인 공무원의 이름과 직책, 부서 정보를 도용한 가짜 명함을 제시하거나, 공공기관 명의를 정교하게 위조한 구매 요청서를 보내 신뢰를 얻는 방식으로 이루어진다. 

외형상으로는 진짜와 구분이 어려울 정도로 치밀하게 제작돼 피해 우려가 커지고 있다.

특히 사기범들은 업체가 평소 취급하지 않는 품목을 노리는 특징을 보이고 있다. 

소방시설이나 공기호흡기, 손전등과 의료기기, 무인기(드론) 등 전문 장비의 대리 구매를 요구하며 접근한 뒤, 특정 업체에서 물품을 대신 구매해달라거나 선입금 또는 대리 결제를 유도하는 방식이다. 

이후 금전이 지급되면 곧바로 연락을 끊고 잠적하는 사례가 확인되고 있다.

이에 파주시는 피해를 원천 차단하기 위해 ‘물품구매 진위여부 전담창구’를 즉시 가동하고 대응에 나섰다. 

해당 창구는 공무원 실명과 소속 부서 확인, 공문서 진위 여부 검증, 사기 의심 사례 접수 및 경찰 연계 안내, 피해 예방 상담 등의 기능을 수행한다. 

대표 전화번호를 통해 누구나 신속하게 확인할 수 있다.

시 관계자는 “공무원이나 유관기관이 개인이나 특정 업체에 물품 구매 대행을 요청하거나 계좌로 현금 입금을 요구하는 일은 절대로 없다”며 “대리 구매나 선입금을 요구하는 경우는 100% 사칭 범죄로 의심해야 한다”고 강조했다.

파주시는 현재 파주경찰서와 긴밀한 공조 체계를 유지하고 있으며, 피해 사례 접수 시 즉각적인 대응을 통해 추가 피해 확산을 막는다는 방침이다.
