더불어민주당 소속 명재성 경기 고양시장 예비후보가 자신을 둘러싼 허위사실 유포 사건과 관련해, 고발을 취소하는 방안을 신중히 검토하고 있는 것으로 전해졌다. 

당초 강경 대응에 나섰던 명 후보의 입장 변화는, 해당 사안의 당사자인 전직 공무원 J씨가 직접 찾아와 사과의 뜻을 밝힌 데 따른 것이다.
