경기북부보훈지청이 6·10만세운동 100주년과 백범 김구 선생 탄생 150주년을 기념해 청소년 독립운동 포스터 우수작 전시회 「손끝으로 독립을 담다」를 개최한다.

이번 전시는 미래세대가 독립운동의 역사와 보훈의 가치를 스스로 탐구하고 표현할 수 있도록 마련된 참여형 보훈 프로그램의 결과물로, 청소년들의 창의적인 시각을 통해 독립과 나라사랑 정신을 시민들과 공유하고자 기획됐다.

전시 작품은 지난 4월부터 진행된 청소년 보훈봉사 프로그램을 통해 접수됐다. 

회룡중학교를 비롯해 남양주청소년관, 양평청소년문화의집 등 경기북부 지역 청소년 350여 명이 참여했으며, 학생들은 6·10만세운동과 백범 김구 선생, 독립과 나라사랑을 주제로 다양한 포스터를 제작했다.

경기북부보훈지청은 접수된 작품 가운데 주제 적합성, 창의성, 표현력 등을 종합적으로 평가해 최종 24점의 우수작을 선정했다. 

선정된 작품들은 독립을 향한 선열들의 숭고한 희생정신과 나라사랑의 가치를 청소년들의 시선으로 재해석해 담아내며 깊은 울림을 전하고 있다.

전시는 시민들이 일상 속에서 쉽게 관람할 수 있도록 의정부시 주요 거점 공간에서 순회 형식으로 진행된다. 

지난 1일부터 10일까지는 의정부 회룡역에서 전시가 열리고 있으며, 오는 11일부터 19일까지는 의정부정보도서관으로 장소를 옮겨 시민들과 만난다.

경기북부보훈지청 관계자는 “이번 전시는 단순한 미술 작품 전시를 넘어 청소년들이 역사적 의미를 직접 탐구하고 자신만의 시선으로 독립과 보훈의 가치를 표현했다는 점에서 의미가 크다”며 “청소년들이 역사를 책으로만 배우는 것을 넘어 직접 표현하고 공유하는 과정을 통해 보훈의 가치를 자연스럽게 체감하는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

이어 “앞으로도 미래세대가 공감하고 적극적으로 참여할 수 있는 다양한 보훈문화 프로그램을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 경기북부보훈지청은 호국보훈의 달을 맞아 이번 전시를 비롯해 지역사회와 연계한 다양한 체험형 보훈문화 행사를 추진하며 일상 속 보훈문화 확산에 힘쓸 계획이다.
