파주도시공사가 지역 취약계층을 위한 나눔 봉사에 나섰다.

공사는 지난달 29일 파주시문산종합사회복지관과 공동으로 관내 독거노인·한부모가정 20가구를 찾아 계절 과일 꾸러미를 전했다.

이번 봉사는 두 기관이 체결한 업무협약(MOU)에 따른 첫 번째 협력 사업으로, 소요 비용은 임직원들이 자율적으로 모은 사내 후원금 150만 원으로 충당했다.

공사 임직원과 복지관 직원이 직접 각 가정의 문을 두드리며 꾸러미를 건넸으며 단순한 물품 지급에 그치지 않고 거동이 불편하거나 고립된 이웃과 얼굴을 맞대고 대화를 나누는 자리가 됐다는 점에서 의미가 컸다는 평가다.

공사 관계자는 "문산종합사회복지관과의 협력 관계를 발판 삼아 지역 취약계층을 위한 사회공헌 활동을 다양한 방식으로 지속해 나갈 계획"이라고 말했다.
