국민의힘 이동환 고양시장 후보가 각계각층 시민들과의 연쇄 간담회를 통해 현장의 목소리를 직접 청취하며 ‘시민 중심 정책 행보’에 속도를 내고 있다.

이동환 후보는 29일 오전 10시부터 화정동 선거캠프에서 개인택시연합, 한국자유총연맹, 무용사협회 관계자들과 잇따라 간담회를 열고 교통·안보·문화예술 분야 현안을 논의했다. 

이번 릴레이 간담회는 다양한 현장 의견을 정책에 반영하고, 시민들이 체감할 수 있는 실질적인 변화를 이끌어내기 위해 마련됐다.

가장 먼저 열린 개인택시연합 간담회에서는 택시업계의 경영난과 운수종사자 처우 개선, 교통 취약지역 해소 방안 등이 주요 의제로 다뤄졌다. 

참석자들은 광역교통망 확충과 함께 시민들이 일상에서 겪는 생활교통 불편 해결이 시급하다고 강조했다.

이에 대해 이동환 후보는 “택시는 시민의 가장 가까운 발이자 도시의 첫인상을 결정짓는 중요한 공공서비스”라며 “광역교통은 물론 시민들이 매일 체감하는 생활교통의 작은 불편까지 세심하게 챙겨 안전하고 편리한 교통도시를 만들겠다”고 밝혔다.

이어 열린 한국자유총연맹 간담회에서는 지역사회 봉사활동과 안보 의식 확산, 자유민주주의 가치 확립을 위한 시민단체의 역할에 대한 의견이 오갔다.

참석자들은 지역공동체를 지탱하는 시민단체에 대한 지속적인 행정적 관심과 지원 필요성을 제기했다.

이동환 후보는 “고양시가 글로벌 일류도시로 성장하기 위해서는 경제와 교통 발전뿐 아니라 지역공동체를 묵묵히 지키는 시민단체의 역할도 중요하다”며 “자유민주주의의 가치를 바탕으로 시민 모두가 안전하고 안정된 삶을 누릴 수 있도록 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.

마지막으로 진행된 무용사협회 간담회에서는 지역 문화예술인들의 활동 공간 부족과 공연 기회 확대 등 문화예술계의 현실적인 어려움이 집중 논의됐다. 

예술인들은 대형 공연장 조성뿐 아니라 시민과 예술인이 일상에서 자연스럽게 만날 수 있는 생활문화 기반 확대의 필요성을 강조했다.

이에 이동환 후보는 “문화예술은 시민 삶의 질을 높이는 핵심 자산”이라며 “고양시민이 일상 속에서 풍요로운 문화를 누릴 수 있도록 지역 예술계와 지속적으로 소통하며 현장 중심의 문화정책을 추진하겠다”고 약속했다.
