6·3 지방선거 사전투표를 이틀 앞둔 27일 저녁, 더불어민주당 민경선 고양시장 후보가 덕양구 화정역 광장에서 대규모 집중유세를 펼치며 막판 표심 잡기에 총력을 기울였다.

이날 유세 현장에는 시민사회 인사를 비롯해 지역 국회의원, 예비역 장성단, 지지자들이 대거 참석해 광장을 가득 메웠다. 

현장에서는 “고양의 미래를 바꾸자”, “멈춘 4년을 끝내자”는 구호가 이어지며 뜨거운 분위기가 연출됐다.

민경선 후보는 연설에서 “낡은 규제에 묶여 멈춰버린 고양을 다시 뛰게 만들겠다”며 “고양시를 미래산업 중심도시로 성장시켜 시민들이 체감하는 변화를 반드시 만들겠다”고 강조했다.

이어진 지지 연설에서는 각계 인사들의 지원 발언이 이어졌다.

류태선 고양빛의연대 상임대표는 “고양시가 상권 침체와 교통난, 청년 유출 등으로 활력을 잃고 있는 상황에서 시민과 함께할 진짜 후보를 검증한 끝에 민경선 후보를 시민정책동행후보로 선정했다”며 지지를 선언했다.

우선 교통 혁신 분야에서는 철도 중심의 버스노선 전면 개편과 경기 프리미엄 버스 확대, 행복택시 도입 등을 통해 시민들의 출퇴근 시간을 30분 단축하겠다고 밝혔다.

민 후보는 “출퇴근 시간을 줄여 시민들에게 저녁 있는 삶을 돌려드리겠다”며 “특히 항공대와 연계한 UAM·항공우주 산업을 육성해 청년들이 찾아오는 미래산업 중심도시 고양을 반드시 만들겠다”고 말했다.

이어 신청사 재추진 의사도 분명히 하며 “이번 선거는 멈춰버린 고양시의 엔진을 다시 켜는 선거”라고 강조했다.

민 후보는 “28일부터 시작되는 사전투표와 6월 3일 본투표에 적극 참여해 시민의 힘으로 새로운 미래도시 고양을 만들어달라”며 지지를 호소했다.
