국민의힘 정형배 경기도의원 예비후보(이하 '후보')가 고양시 제8선거구(장항1·2동·정발산동·풍산동) 출마를 공식화하며 “추진력과 통합의 리더십으로 고양의 미래를 열겠다”고 밝혔다. 

정 후보는 ‘준비된 일꾼’을 강조하며 지역 현안 해결에 대한 강한 의지를 드러냈다.

멕스웰리더쉽연구소 한국 대표이자 산림보호 전문가로 활동 중인 정 후보는 자신이 가진 강점으로 ‘강력한 추진력’과 ‘통합의 리더십’을 꼽았다. 

그는 “멕스웰리더쉽연구소 한국 대표로서 ‘리더십 대이론(LGT)’을 실천해오며 다양한 분야에서 변화를 이끌어왔다”며 “국민의힘 경기도당 국민통합위원회 부위원장으로 활동하며 쌓은 갈등 조정과 소통 경험을 바탕으로 고양시 현안을 해결하겠다”고 말했다.

정 후보는 고양시 주요 현안 가운데 가장 시급한 과제로 1기 신도시 재건축 문제를 제시했다. 

특히 노후화가 심각한 정발산동과 풍산동에 대해서는 단순 재건축을 넘어 미래형 스마트 도시로의 전환이 필요하다고 강조했다. 

이를 위해 경기도의회 차원의 선도지구 지정 행정 지원을 추진하고, 정발산동 저층 주거지 특성에 맞춘 맞춤형 정비 모델을 마련하겠다는 계획이다. 

또한 재건축 과정에서 발생할 주민 불편을 최소화하기 위해 경기도 차원의 선제적 이주 대책 검토도 추진하겠다고 밝혔다.

장항동 개발과 관련해서는 고양 경제지도의 변화를 이끌겠다는 청사진도 제시했다. 

그는 장항 테크노밸리와 방송영상밸리 조성 사업을 중심으로 경제자유구역 조기 지정에 힘을 싣고, 기업 유치를 위한 세제 혜택과 규제 완화 조례 제정에도 적극 나서겠다고 설명했다. 

기업 경영 컨설팅 경험을 바탕으로 실질적인 자족도시 기반을 마련하겠다는 구상이다.

교통 문제 해결 의지도 강조했다.

 정 후보는 상습 교통 정체를 겪고 있는 풍산동 일대에 대해 경의중앙선 증차와 GTX 연계 버스 노선 확대를 추진하고, 지역 도로망 정비 예산을 우선 확보해 교통 소외 문제를 해소하겠다고 약속했다.

산림보호 전문가로서의 경험을 살린 환경 공약도 내세웠다. 

현재 (사)한국숲사랑 총연합회 경기지역 산림보호회장을 맡고 있는 그는 “개발과 환경은 함께 가야 한다”며 “도심 속 시민들이 체감할 수 있는 생활밀착형 공원을 확대해 고양시를 숨 쉬기 좋은 도시로 만들겠다”고 말했다.

최근 선거구 획정 조정으로 인한 주민 혼란에 대해서도 입장을 밝혔다. 

정 후보는 “선거구의 선은 바뀌었지만 주민을 향한 진심의 선은 변하지 않았다”며 “행정적 경계를 넘어 고양시 전체의 발전과 주민 삶의 질 향상을 위해 끝까지 책임 있게 일하겠다”고 강조했다.
