고양도시관리공사교통약자 이동지원센터가 이용객들의 안전하고 편안한 이동권 보장을 위해 특별교통수단 운전원의 안전운전 역량 강화에 나섰다.

교통약자 이동지원센터는 지난 8일과 9일 이틀간 고양시 백석동 어린이교통공원 강당에서 특별교통수단 운전원을 대상으로 전문 강사를 초빙해 안전운전 역량 강화 교육을 실시했다고 13일 밝혔다.

이번 교육은 특별교통수단 운행 과정에서 발생할 수 있는 각종 위험 요소를 사전에 예방하고, 운전원의 교통안전 의식을 높여 이용객들에게 보다 안전하고 쾌적한 이동 서비스를 제공하기 위해 마련됐다.

교육은 경기도교통연수원 교통안전 전문강사인 김진희 교수가 진행했으며, 현장 실무에 바로 적용할 수 있는 내용 중심으로 구성됐다. 

교육에서는 개정된 도로교통법과 교통약자 관련 법규를 비롯해 특별교통수단 교통사고 사례 분석, 비상상황 발생 시 신속한 대응 요령 등을 집중적으로 다뤘다.

특히 실제 발생했던 교통사고 사례를 시각 자료와 함께 분석하고 사고 원인과 예방 방안을 토론하는 시간을 마련해 운전원들의 높은 관심과 호응을 얻었다. 

공사는 이 같은 사례 중심 교육이 현장 대응 능력 향상과 안전사고 예방에 실질적인 도움이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

고양도시관리공사는 교통약자 이동지원 서비스의 안전성을 높이기 위해 지속적인 교육과 체계적인 안전관리를 추진해 왔다. 

그 결과 안전사고 발생 건수는 2023년 20건에서 2024년 11건, 2025년 9건으로 꾸준히 감소했으며, 올해는 현재까지 3건에 그치는 등 뚜렷한 개선 성과를 보이고 있다.
