고양특례시가 경기도 최대 공예 경연대회에서 뛰어난 성과를 거두며 지역 공예문화의 경쟁력을 다시 한번 입증했다.

고양특례시는 ‘제56회 경기도 공예품대전’에서 총 12개의 개인상 수상작을 배출하고 기관 표창인 단체 장려상을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

경기도가 주최하고 한국도자재단이 주관한 이번 대회에는 총 363점의 작품이 출품돼 치열한 경쟁을 펼쳤으며, 시상식은 지난 9일 여주 경기생활도자미술관에서 열렸다.

이번 대회에서는 11명의 전문 심사위원이 작품의 예술성, 창의성, 상품성 등을 종합적으로 평가했다. 

고양시 출품 작가들은 전통 공예의 아름다움과 현대적인 감각을 조화롭게 담아낸 작품으로 높은 평가를 받으며 화성시, 이천시, 성남시 등 공예 분야 강세 지역과 함께 우수 지자체로 이름을 올렸다.

수상 결과도 눈길을 끌었다.

종이 분야 홍현주 작가의 「조선의 혼을 담다」가 동상을 수상했으며, 금속 분야 양혜미 작가의 「동화온고」와 기타 분야 배갑숙 작가의 「버들동고리」가 각각 장려상을 받았다.

또 종이 분야 김남희 작가의 「줌치꽃이야기」와 금속 분야 강창열 작가의 「오약꽃다관 세트」는 특선에 선정됐으며, 목·칠 분야 조한구 작가의 「건칠 당초무늬 화병」을 비롯한 7개 작품이 입선하며 고양시는 총 12개의 개인상을 배출하는 성과를 거뒀다.

이번 공예품대전 수상작 100점은 오는 19일까지 여주 경기생활도자미술관에서 특별 전시돼 관람객들에게 공개된다. 

특히 특선 이상을 수상한 고양시 작품들은 경기도 대표 자격으로 전국 17개 시·도가 참여하는 ‘제56회 대한민국 공예품대전’에 출전해 다시 한번 우수성을 선보일 예정이다.

고양시 관계자는 “이번 수상은 고양시 공예인들의 뛰어난 예술성과 창의성이 경기도 무대에서 인정받은 뜻깊은 성과”라며 “앞으로도 지역 공예산업 활성화와 작가들이 안정적인 창작 환경에서 활동할 수 있도록 다양한 지원을 지속해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
