파주소방서는 지난 7일 오전 10시 소방서 2층 소회의실에서 지역사회 안전과 소방행정 발전에 기여한 퇴직 의용소방대원 7명에게 공로패를 수여했다고 밝혔다.

이번 수여식은 의용소방대원으로 재직하는 동안 투철한 사명감과 봉사정신으로 각종 재난 현장 지원과 화재예방 활동에 적극적으로 참여하며 지역 안전에 기여한 대원들의 노고에 감사의 뜻을 전하기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 공로패를 받은 퇴직 의용소방대원 7명은 짧게는 10년, 길게는 24년이라는 긴 시간 동안 각종 화재와 재난 현장에서 소방활동을 지원해 왔다. 

또한 화재예방 캠페인과 지역사회 봉사활동 등에 꾸준히 참여하며 시민의 생명과 재산을 보호하는 데 앞장서 왔다.

김명찬 파주소방서장은 "오랜 시간 지역의 안전을 위해 묵묵히 헌신해 주신 의용소방대원 여러분께 깊은 감사와 존경의 마음을 전한다"며 "앞으로도 소방가족이었다는 자긍심을 간직하고 지역 안전을 위한 든든한 조력자로 함께해 주시길 바란다"고 말했다.
