고양도시관리공사가 연일 이어지는 여름철 폭염 속에서 시민들의 건강을 지키고 쾌적한 휴식 공간을 제공하기 위해 이색 피서지를 마련했다.

공사는 고양어울림누리 내 얼음마루(빙상장)를 활용한 '무더위 쉼터'를 7월 1일부터 8월 31일까지 두 달간 운영한다고 밝혔다.

고양어울림누리 얼음마루 빙상장은 특성상 항상 시원한 실내 온도가 유지되는 공간이다. 

공사는 이 점에 착안해 무더위에 지친 시민들이 더위를 피해 편안하게 휴식을 취할 수 있도록 도심 속 이색 피서 공간으로 쉼터를 조성했다.

이번 무더위 쉼터는 빙상장 2층 관람석 내에 마련됐다. 

편안하게 머무를 수 있는 테이블석과 VIP석을 포함해 약 200석 규모로 쾌적하게 꾸며졌다.

이용 대상에는 어르신, 어린이 등 폭염 취약계층은 물론 고양시민과 방문객 누구나 제한 없이 포함되며, 자유롭게 이용할 수 있다. 

운영 시간은 빙상장 일일입장 시간과 동일하게 적용된다.

다만 빙상장 내부 일정에 따라 운영 시간이 변동될 수 있어, 방문 전 고양어울림누리 체육센터 홈페이지를 통해 당일 운영 일정을 확인하는 것이 좋다.
