파주시가 전국 관광객들의 높은 관심과 호응을 얻으며 대한민국 대표 관광도시로서의 경쟁력을 다시 한번 입증했다.

파주시는 지난 3일부터 5일까지 고양시 킨텍스에서 열린 ‘제11회 대한민국 국제 관광박람회(KITS)’에서 대중선호도 부문 최우수상을 수상했다고 밝혔다.

대한민국 국제 관광박람회는 전국 지방자치단체와 관광기관이 참여해 지역의 대표 관광자원과 특색 있는 관광 콘텐츠를 소개하는 국내 대표 관광 박람회다. 

이번 행사에서 파주시는 관람객의 눈높이에 맞춘 차별화된 홍보관 운영으로 높은 호응을 얻으며 대중선호도 부문 최우수상의 영예를 안았다.

파주시는 이번 박람회에서 전문성과 체험을 결합한 홍보 전략으로 관람객들의 관심을 끌었다.

홍보관에는 문화관광해설사를 상시 배치해 파주의 역사와 문화, 주요 관광지에 대한 깊이 있는 해설을 제공하며 방문객들의 이해를 높였다.

특히 비무장지대(DMZ)를 비롯해 임진각, 마장호수 출렁다리, 통일동산 관광특구 등 파주의 대표 관광 명소를 집중 소개하며 지역만의 차별화된 관광 경쟁력을 알렸다. 

아울러 GTX 시대를 맞아 수도권에서 더욱 편리하게 접근할 수 있는 관광도시라는 점을 강조하고, 파주 시티투어 코스와 다양한 관광 정보를 함께 제공해 실제 방문으로 이어질 수 있도록 했다.

현장에서는 파주의 특산물을 활용한 관광 기념품도 큰 인기를 끌었다. 

장단삼백 천연비누와 DMZ 초콜릿, DMZ 텀블러 등 1,000여 점의 기념품을 선보이며 관람객들의 관심을 모았고, 파주의 브랜드 이미지를 효과적으로 알리는 데 기여했다.
