고양특례시가 운영이 중단됐던 김대중 대통령 사저 기념관의 문을 다시 열고 시민들을 위한 역사문화 프로그램 운영을 본격화한다.

고양특례시는 김대중 대통령 사저 기념관이 7월 7일부터 문화해설 프로그램을 재개하며 시민들에게 민주주의와 인권, 평화의 가치를 되새기는 역사 교육 공간으로 새롭게 운영된다고 밝혔다.

김대중 대통령 사저 기념관은 지난 2023년부터 운영이 잠정 중단됐으나, 이번 재개관을 계기로 시민과 청소년들이 우리나라 민주화의 역사와 김대중 대통령의 삶을 보다 깊이 이해할 수 있는 체험형 역사 교육의 장으로 다시 문을 열게 됐다.

기념관은 문화해설사가 동행하는 정기 해설 프로그램을 중심으로 운영된다. 관람객들은 환영 공간을 시작으로 통일관, 유산관, 역사관 등을 차례로 둘러보며 김대중 대통령의 생애와 민주주의 발전 과정, 한반도 평화와 인권의 의미 등 한국 현대사의 주요 흐름을 생생한 설명과 함께 살펴볼 수 있다.
