민경선 고양특례시장이 취임 일주일 만에 형식적인 업무 관행을 과감히 벗어나 핵심 공약사업과 시급한 지역 현안을 직접 챙기며 민선 9기 시정 운영에 속도를 내고 있다.

고양시는 민 시장이 오는 9일부터 16일까지 도시, 교통, 산업, 복지, 환경, 문화 등 6개 분야를 담당하는 8개 실·국·소를 대상으로 ‘현안 집중 보고회’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 보고회는 기존의 일방적인 업무보고 방식을 탈피해 자유로운 간담회 형식으로 진행된다. 

실·국·소장이 핵심 현안을 간결하게 보고하면 민 시장과 간부 공무원들이 함께 토론하며 실질적인 해결 방안을 도출하는 방식이다. 

단순한 현황 보고를 넘어 정책 방향을 함께 논의하는 실무 중심의 회의로 운영될 예정이다.

주요 점검 대상은 신속한 정책 결정과 방향 설정이 필요한 사업을 비롯해 민선 9기 시정 철학에 맞춰 사업 방향을 재정립하거나 재원 조정이 필요한 사업, 집단민원과 장기간 해결되지 않은 지역 현안 등이다. 

시는 이번 보고회를 통해 현안 해결 속도를 높이고 행정 효율성을 강화한다는 방침이다.

민 시장은 "이번 보고회는 형식적인 보고가 아닌 현안 중심의 실질적인 해결 방안을 논의하는 실용적인 자리가 될 것"이라며 "지난 4년간 고양시를 멈추게 했던 원인을 정확히 진단하고 신속하게 변화시키겠다"고 말했다.

이어 "간부 공무원부터 솔선수범하는 적극적인 공직문화를 만들어 시민들이 체감할 수 있는 '고양의 대전환'을 최대한 앞당기겠다"고 강조했다.

민 시장은 취임 이후 시민과의 소통을 강화하는 행정에도 속도를 내고 있다. 

취임 첫날 시민과의 직접 소통을 확대하기 위한 '열린 고양 프로젝트'를 1호 결재로 추진한 데 이어 시장 직통 민원폰을 개통해 시민들의 생활 민원과 정책 제안을 실시간으로 접수하고 있다. 

개통 이후 현재까지 100건이 넘는 민원과 제안이 접수되며 시민들의 높은 관심을 받고 있다.
