파주의 대표 역사문화축제인 '율곡문화제'가 오는 10월 율곡 이이 선생의 사상과 정신을 현대적으로 재해석한 새로운 프로그램으로 시민들을 만난다.

파주문화재단은 '격몽(擊蒙): 깨우치고 다시 시작하다'를 주제로 한 '2026 율곡문화제'를 오는 10월 24일부터 25일까지 이틀간 개최한다고 밝혔다.

올해로 36회째를 맞는 율곡문화제는 율곡 이이의 대표 저서인 '격몽요결(擊蒙要訣)'에서 착안해 배움과 실천의 가치를 오늘날의 시각으로 풀어낸 참여형 문화축제로 꾸며질 예정이다. 

시민들이 단순히 축제를 관람하는 것을 넘어 율곡 선생의 철학과 삶을 직접 체험하고 공감할 수 있도록 다양한 프로그램을 선보인다.

본행사에 앞서 오는 7월 7일부터는 축제 공식 홈페이지를 개설하고 첫 번째 사전 프로그램인 온라인 전시 '율곡 서재'를 공개한다.

'율곡 서재'는 인간 율곡 이이의 삶과 발자취를 소개하는 '율곡의 삶', 그의 사상과 저서를 조명하는 '율곡과 책', 현대적 관점에서 율곡 철학을 해석하는 '전문가의 시선' 등 다양한 콘텐츠로 구성돼 시민들이 일상 속에서도 율곡 선생을 쉽고 깊이 있게 만날 수 있도록 마련됐다.

공식 홈페이지는 온라인 전시뿐 아니라 사전 프로그램 안내와 시민 참여 이벤트, 본행사 소식 등을 순차적으로 제공하는 축제 소통 창구 역할을 하게 된다.

재단은 온라인 전시 개설을 기념해 7월부터 8월까지 시민 참여 이벤트도 진행한다. 

매주 열리는 주간 이벤트와 월별 특별 이벤트를 통해 시민들의 참여를 유도하고, 추첨을 통해 지역화폐인 파주페이를 경품으로 지급할 예정이다.

파주문화재단 관계자는 "이번 축제는 시민들이 율곡 선생의 삶과 철학을 새롭게 만나고 오늘의 삶 속에서 '격몽'이 지닌 의미를 함께 되새기며 공감대를 넓혀가는 계기가 될 것"이라며 "7월부터 시작되는 다양한 사전 프로그램과 시민 참여 캠페인에 많은 관심과 참여를 부탁드린다"고 말했다.
