손배찬 파주시장이 취임 후 첫 공식 현장 방문지로 학교를 찾으며 교육환경 개선에 대한 강한 의지를 드러냈다.

파주시는 지난 3일 손배찬 시장이 전선아 파주교육지원청 교육장과 함께 산내초등학교를 방문해 학생과 교직원, 학부모 등 교육공동체의 의견을 청취하고 교육환경 개선 방안을 논의했다고 밝혔다.

이번 방문은 교육 현장의 목소리를 시정에 적극 반영해 학생들이 보다 나은 환경에서 학습할 수 있도록 지원하겠다는 의지를 담아 마련됐다.

이날 손 시장과 전 교육장은 학교 관계자들과 간담회를 갖고 산내초등학교의 주요 현안인 과대학교 문제와 문화·체육 활동 공간 부족 문제를 집중적으로 논의했다. 

특히 인근 지역의 학생 수 증가에 따른 교육시설 부족과 학생들의 다양한 활동을 위한 공간 확충 필요성 등 현장의 어려움을 청취하며 실질적인 해결 방안을 모색했다.

파주시와 파주교육지원청은 학생들이 보다 안전하고 쾌적한 교육환경에서 학습할 수 있도록 기관 간 협력 체계를 강화하고, 현장의 의견을 반영한 실효성 있는 대책을 마련하는 데 힘을 모으기로 했다.
