고양특례시가 여름방학을 맞아 어린이들이 분단의 역사를 배우고 평화의 가치를 직접 체험할 수 있는 특별한 교육 프로그램을 마련했다.

고양특례시는 오는 7월 25일부터 8월 15일까지 매주 토요일 DMZ 평화의 길 쉼터인 '나들라온'과 연계한 '우리가 만드는 평화의 길(DMZ 역사 그리기 마당)' 프로그램을 총 4회 운영한다고 6일 밝혔다.

이번 프로그램은 초등학생들이 교과서 속 역사에서 벗어나 DMZ의 역사적 현장을 직접 방문하고 다양한 체험 활동을 통해 평화의 의미를 자연스럽게 이해할 수 있도록 기획됐다. 

회당 15명의 소규모로 운영해 참가 어린이들이 보다 깊이 있는 체험을 할 수 있도록 할 예정이다.

참가자들은 정발산역 2번 출구에 위치한 고양관광정보센터에 집결한 뒤 단체로 '나들라온'으로 이동해 약 3시간 동안 다양한 프로그램에 참여한다.

주요 프로그램은 어린이 눈높이에 맞춘 DMZ 역사문화 해설을 비롯해 나들라온 전시 관람, 군대 내무반 체험, 지하통로 탐방 등으로 구성된다. 

또한 DMZ 평화의 길 철책 구간을 직접 걸으며 분단의 현실을 체감하고, 체험을 통해 느낀 생각과 평화의 메시지를 그림으로 표현하는 '스토리텔링 그리기' 활동도 진행된다.

특히 일반인이 쉽게 접하기 어려운 군 철책 구간과 지하통로를 직접 체험할 수 있어 어린이들에게 분단의 현실을 생생하게 이해하고 평화의 소중함을 되새기는 뜻깊은 시간이 될 것으로 기대된다.

프로그램은 초등학생을 대상으로 회당 15명을 선착순 모집하며 참가비는 1인당 2천 원이다. 

참가 신청은 안내 포스터 등에 게재된 QR코드를 통해 사전 예약 방식으로 접수할 수 있다.

고양특례시 관계자는 "이번 프로그램은 단순한 관광이나 견학을 넘어 어린이들이 평화의 가치를 몸소 체험하고 이를 예술 활동으로 표현하는 참여형 평화교육 프로그램"이라며 "앞으로도 '나들라온'과 DMZ 평화의 길을 연계한 고양시만의 차별화된 체험형 관광 콘텐츠를 지속적으로 발굴해 나가겠다"고 말했다.
