고양특례시가 내년 6월 시행을 앞둔 '특례시 지원에 관한 특별법'에 맞춰 새롭게 이양되는 특례사무의 안정적인 정착을 위한 준비에 본격 착수했다.

시는 지난 3일 시청 대회의실에서 박원석 제1부시장과 신규 특례사무 소관 부서장, 팀장, 담당자 등 60여 명이 참석한 가운데 '신규 특례사무 공유 및 이양준비 토론회'를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이번 토론회는 지난 6월 2일 공포된 '특례시 지원에 관한 특별법'에 따라 고양특례시가 새롭게 맡게 되는 19개 특례사무의 내용을 공유하고, 법 시행에 앞서 원활한 업무 이양 방안을 논의하기 위해 마련됐다.

특별법에는 광역교통 정책 수립, 산업단지 개발 및 관리, 관광단지 조성계획 수립, 공동주택 리모델링 기본계획 수립 등 대도시 행정 수요와 밀접한 19개 신규 특례사무가 반영됐다. 

시는 이 같은 권한 이양으로 행정 절차가 간소화되고 시민들에게 보다 신속하고 효율적인 행정서비스를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대하고 있다.
