고양특례시가 고위험 가축전염병인 SAT1형 구제역의 유입을 차단하기 위해 추진한 2차 긴급 백신 접종을 계획대로 모두 완료하며 방역 대응을 한층 강화했다.

고양특례시는 관내 우제류 사육 농가를 대상으로 실시한 'SAT1형 구제역 긴급 백신 2차 접종'을 접종 대상 대비 100% 완료했다고 3일 밝혔다.

이번 긴급 접종은 구제역 발생을 사전에 차단하고 축산농가의 피해를 최소화하기 위한 조치로 추진됐다.

접종 대상은 관내 188개 농가에서 사육 중인 소와 염소, 사슴 등 우제류 총 9,975두이며, 대상 가축 모두 접종을 마쳤다.

축종별로는 소 138개 농가 8,850두, 염소 30개 농가 920두, 사슴 16개 농가 173두, 산양 2개 농가 19두, 면양 2개 농가 13두가 접종을 완료했다.

시는 축산농가의 적극적인 협조와 공수의사의 신속한 현장 대응, 행정지원이 유기적으로 이뤄지면서 단기간 내 접종을 마칠 수 있었다고 설명했다. 

이를 통해 구제역 발생 위험을 낮추는 동시에 축산농가의 경영 안정에도 도움이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

접종 완료 이후에도 고양시는 접경지역 방역 거점으로서 후속 방역 관리에 집중할 방침이다. 

백신 접종 후 항체가 충분히 형성될 때까지 임상예찰을 강화하고, 농장 출입 통제와 차량 및 축사 소독, 방역수칙 준수 여부 점검 등 현장 중심의 차단방역을 지속적으로 실시한다.

또한 농가를 대상으로 백신 접종 이행 여부와 이상 반응을 지속적으로 모니터링하고, 구제역 의심 증상이 발생할 경우 즉시 신고할 수 있도록 홍보와 예찰 활동도 병행할 계획이다.
