민경선 고양특례시장이 1일 ‘멈춘 고양, 다시 뛰게!’를 시정 슬로건으로 내걸고 민선 9기 고양특례시장으로서의 공식 임기를 시작했다.

민 시장은 이날 고양어울림누리 어울림극장에서 열린 취임식에서 시민과 각계 인사 등 1,200여 명이 참석한 가운데 고양시의 새로운 도약을 위한 시정 철학과 미래 비전을 제시하며 본격적인 시정 운영의 출발을 알렸다.

민 시장은 취임사를 통해 “정치에 입문한 이후 30년 동안 변화를 위해 타협하지 않고 달려오며 ‘착한 싸움꾼’이라는 별명을 얻었다”며 “절박하고 절실한 마음으로 일하며 고양의 대전환을 반드시 이루겠다”고 강조했다.

이어 시민과의 약속으로 불통 행정의 종식과 공직사회 혁신을 제시했다.

시민과의 소통을 강화하기 위해 시장실을 청사 1층으로 이전하고 시정회의를 시민들에게 생중계하는 한편, 시의회와의 협치와 타운홀 미팅을 통해 시민 의견을 적극 시정에 반영하겠다고 밝혔다. 

또한 시민의 입장에서 적극적으로 일하고 혁신하는 공직자를 우대하는 인사 시스템을 구축해 변화하는 조직문화를 만들겠다는 의지도 밝혔다.

민 시장은 교통, 경제, 민생을 중심으로 한 시정 운영 방향도 제시했다. 

교통 분야에서는 버스노선 체계를 전면 개편해 출퇴근 시간을 단축하고, 고양형 편하G버스 운영과 광역철도망 확충, 똑버스와 장애인콜택시 확대 등을 추진하겠다고 밝혔다.

경제 분야에서는 AI, 게임, 항공우주 등 미래 전략산업을 육성하고 디지펜 공과대 국제캠퍼스 유치, 경제자유구역의 조속한 실현, 1,000억 원 규모의 지역기업 성장펀드 조성을 통해 양질의 일자리를 창출하겠다는 계획을 제시했다. 

아울러 K-컬처밸리 아레나와 킨텍스를 중심으로 한 글로벌 문화거점을 조성하고 북한산과 창릉천, 한강, 행주산성을 연결하는 문화관광벨트를 구축해 고양시를 세계적인 문화도시로 성장시키겠다고 밝혔다.

민생 분야에서는 지역화폐 확대와 청년기본소득 복원, 중단된 마을공동체 사업과 작은도서관 운영 재개, 촘촘한 돌봄체계 구축 등을 통해 시민들이 체감할 수 있는 생활밀착형 정책을 추진하겠다고 강조했다.

취임과 동시에 시민들이 즉시 변화를 체감할 수 있는 정책도 발표했다.
