일산동부서는 지난 24일 경기도사회서비스원 산하 경기북서부노인보호전문기관(관장 한귀영)과 만나 노인학대 근절과 범죄피해자 보호를 위한 업무협약서에 서명했으며 협약의 배경에는 일산동구 지역에서 발생하는 노인학대 사건에 대해 보다 촘촘한 상담 체계를 갖추고, 그동안 드러나지 않았던 피해 사례까지 폭넓게 찾아내겠다는 목표가 깔려 있다.

두 기관은 앞으로 위험에 노출된 어르신을 조기에 찾아 보호하는 작업과, 학대 예방을 알리는 캠페인 운영, 피해 노인에 대한 통합적 돌봄까지 세 갈래로 나눠 손발을 맞출 계획이다.
