고양특례시의 대표 역사문화축제인 ‘제38회 고양행주문화제’가 3일간의 대장정을 성공적으로 마무리하며 지역 대표 축제의 위상을 다시 한번 입증했다.

‘일상과 꿈을 이을 쐐기돌, 행주’를 주제로 열린 이번 축제는 지난 12일부터 14일까지 행주산성과 행주산성역사공원 일대에서 개최됐다. 

무더운 날씨에도 불구하고 수많은 시민과 관광객이 행사장을 찾아 역사와 문화, 첨단 기술이 어우러진 다채로운 프로그램을 즐기며 축제의 열기를 더했다.

특히 올해 축제는 행주대첩의 역사적 의미를 현대적으로 재해석한 야간 콘텐츠가 큰 호응을 얻었다. 

행주대첩 승전의 상징인 신기전과 변이중화차를 첨단 기술과 결합한 불꽃드론쇼와 수상불꽃놀이는 한강의 밤하늘을 화려하게 수놓으며 관람객들에게 깊은 감동을 선사했다.

역사 체험 프로그램도 인기를 끌었다.

조선시대 행주산성을 재현한 역사 테마존 ‘행주맨돌마을’에서는 권율 장군과 밥할머니 등 역사 속 인물을 만나볼 수 있었으며, 왜군 격파와 군수물자 보급 체험 등을 통해 행주대첩의 승리 과정을 생생하게 경험할 수 있도록 했다. 

올해 처음 선보인 승전행렬 퍼레이드는 역동적인 퍼포먼스와 흥겨운 음악으로 축제장 분위기를 한층 고조시켰다.

시민 참여형 프로그램도 축제의 재미를 더했다.

한국항공대학교와 협업해 마련한 화차·비격진천뢰 체험과 인공지능(AI) 기술을 활용한 역사 미션 게임 ‘행주를 지켜줘’는 어린이와 청소년들에게 교육적 가치와 즐거움을 동시에 제공했다. 

또한 전국 각지에서 모인 600여 명이 참가한 ‘전국 박 터트리기 대회’는 박진감 넘치는 경쟁 속에 축제의 대표 프로그램으로 자리매김했다.

축제 기간 동안에는 창작 뮤지컬 ‘행주대첩’을 비롯해 서도밴드 공연, 지역 예술인들의 다양한 무대가 이어지며 역사문화축제의 품격을 높였다.

공연장을 찾은 관람객들은 수준 높은 문화예술 콘텐츠를 통해 행주대첩의 의미를 보다 친근하게 접할 수 있었다.

임진왜란 3대 대첩 도시 간 교류도 눈길을 끌었다. 

고양시를 비롯해 진주시와 통영시가 참여한 이번 교류 행사에서는 각 도시를 상징하는 캐릭터 유등이 전시됐으며, 통영 통제영무예단의 특별공연이 펼쳐져 역사적 연대와 우의를 다지는 뜻깊은 시간이 마련됐다. 

올해로 5년째 이어진 교류는 행주대첩을 비롯한 임진왜란 3대 대첩의 역사적 가치를 전국적으로 알리는 데 기여했다.
