파주소방서가 올여름 기록적인 폭염과 온열질환자 증가에 선제적으로 대응하기 위해 오는 9월 30일까지 ‘2026년 폭염 대비 구급대책’을 본격 추진한다.

최근 기후변화의 영향으로 폭염의 강도와 지속 기간이 길어지는 가운데, 파주소방서는 촘촘한 응급의료 대응체계를 구축해 시민 생명 보호에 총력을 기울일 방침이다.

파주소방서에 따르면 지난해 파주지역 온열질환 관련 구급 출동은 총 33건으로, 이 가운데 28명이 병원으로 이송됐다. 

이는 전년 대비 2.2배 증가한 수치로 역대 최다 기록이다.

온열질환 유형별로는 열탈진이 전체의 51.5%로 가장 많았으며, 환자의 절반 이상인 51.5%가 60세 이상 고령층인 것으로 나타났다. 

발생 시기를 보면 7월에 전체 환자의 69.7%가 집중됐고, 시간대별로는 열기가 누적되는 오후 4시부터 7시 사이가 30.3%로 가장 높은 비중을 차지했다.

발생 장소는 야외가 42.4%로 가장 많았지만, 실내 주거공간에서도 21.2%가 발생한 것으로 집계됐다.

 이에 따라 냉방시설 이용이 어려운 취약계층에 대한 각별한 관심과 예방대책이 필요한 것으로 분석됐다.

파주소방서는 폭염으로 인한 응급환자 발생에 신속하게 대응하기 위해 구급차 11대와 펌뷸런스 11대 등 총 22대를 상시 출동 태세로 운영한다. 

펌뷸런스는 펌프차와 구급차를 결합한 개념으로, 구급차 출동에 따른 공백 발생 시 펌프차가 즉시 현장에 투입돼 응급의료 서비스를 제공하는 시스템이다.

모든 차량에는 얼음조끼와 얼음팩, 생리식염수, 전해질용액 등 폭염 대응을 위한 필수 의약품과 장비 9종이 비치된다. 

또한 지난 5월 27일부터 29일까지 전 구급대원을 대상으로 온열질환자 평가와 체온 저하 응급처치, 수액 처치 등에 대한 전문 교육을 실시했으며, 관련 장비 점검도 완료했다.

김명찬 파주소방서장은 “고령자와 야외 근로자는 한낮뿐 아니라 하루 동안 축적된 열기가 남아 있는 늦은 오후 시간대에도 충분한 수분 섭취와 휴식을 취해야 한다”며 “특히 실내에 계시는 어르신들도 폭염 시에는 냉방시설이 갖춰진 무더위쉼터를 적극 활용해 달라”고 당부했다.

이어 “파주소방서는 빈틈없는 구급 대응체계를 유지해 시민의 안전을 지키는 데 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

한편 파주소방서는 여름철 폭염 피해를 최소화하기 위해 온열질환 예방수칙과 국민행동요령 홍보를 지속적으로 추진할 계획이다.
