파주시의회가 제9대 의회 출범을 앞두고 의원 당선인들을 대상으로 의정활동 준비를 위한 안내 설명회를 열었다.

파주시의회는 지난 10일 시의회 세미나실에서 '의회 운영 안내 설명회'를 개최하고, 새 의회를 이끌어 갈 당선인들에게 의정활동 전반에 걸친 기초 정보를 제공했다.

이날 설명회에서는 회기 운영 방식과 의안 처리 절차, 의원 지원 사항, 윤리·청렴 관련 기준 등 실제 의정활동에 필요한 핵심 사항이 두루 다뤄졌으며 당선인들 간의 상견례 및 소통 시간도 함께 마련돼 새 의회 구성원들이 서로 얼굴을 익히는 자리가 됐다.

참석한 당선인들은 "본격적인 의정활동에 앞서 의회 운영 전반을 파악할 수 있는 유익한 시간이었다"며 "시민의 기대에 걸맞은 책임감 있는 활동으로 신뢰받는 의회를 만들겠다"고 입을 모았다.

새로 꾸려지는 제9대 파주시의회는 비례대표를 포함해 초선 10명, 재선 5명, 3선 1명 등 모두 16명으로 구성된다. 정당별로는 더불어민주당 10명, 국민의힘 6명이다.

제9대 파주시의회는 오는 7월 1일 개원식을 열고 의장단과 상임위원회 구성을 마친 뒤 본격적인 의정활동에 나설 계획이다.
