고양특례시가 시청 직원을 사칭해 물품 구매대행과 납품을 유도하는 사기 의심 사례가 발생함에 따라 관내 소상공인과 사업체를 대상으로 각별한 주의를 당부하고 나섰다.

고양시는 10일 최근 신원 미상의 사칭범이 고양시청 직원을 사칭하며 관내 업체에 전화를 걸어 물품 구매와 납품을 요청하는 사례가 접수됐다고 밝혔다.

사칭범은 업체의 의심을 피하기 위해 위조한 공문서와 가짜 명함을 휴대전화로 전송하는 등 치밀한 수법을 사용한 것으로 확인됐다. 

특히 행정기관에 대한 신뢰를 악용해 납품을 재촉하며 거래를 서두르게 한 것으로 드러났다.

조사 결과 사칭범이 전달한 위조 공문과 명함에는 고양시청의 공식 행정전화가 아닌 개인 휴대전화 번호가 기재돼 있었으며, 이를 통해 업체를 속이려 한 것으로 파악됐다.

다행히 해당 연락을 받은 업체가 물품을 발송하기 전 고양시청 담당 부서에 직접 사실 여부를 확인하면서 실제 금전적 피해는 발생하지 않았다.

고양시는 즉시 해당 문서와 명함이 위조된 사실을 확인하고 경찰에 정식 수사를 의뢰했다. 

또한 유사 범죄로 인한 피해 확산을 막기 위해 지역 기업과 소상공인을 대상으로 예방 홍보와 주의 안내를 강화하고 있다.

시는 공공기관을 사칭해 물품 구매나 납품을 요구하는 전화를 받을 경우 반드시 고양시청 누리집에 게시된 공식 행정전화번호를 통해 사실 여부를 확인해야 한다고 강조했다. 

또한 고양시는 어떠한 경우에도 개인 휴대전화 번호로 물품 납품을 요청하지 않으며, 개인 명의 계좌로 대금 입금을 요구하는 일도 없다고 설명했다.

고양시 관계자는 “행정기관에 대한 신뢰를 악용한 사기 범죄로 인해 지역 소상공인들이 피해를 입지 않도록 철저히 대응하겠다”며 “조금이라도 의심스러운 연락을 받았다면 물품을 납품하거나 대금을 송금하기 전에 반드시 시청에 사실 여부를 확인해 달라”고 당부했다.
