민주평화통일자문회의 고양시협의회가 호국보훈의 달을 맞아 국내외가 함께하는 평화 걷기 행사를 개최하며 한반도 평화통일에 대한 시민 공감대 확산에 나섰다.

고양시협의회는 지난 7일 고양시민과 자문위원 등 50여 명이 참여한 가운데 ‘ONE DAY ONE RUN: 평화를 향해 달리다!’ 행사를 성공적으로 마쳤다고 밝혔다.

이날 참가자들은 고양시청을 출발해 길상사까지 왕복 약 6.15km 구간을 함께 걸으며 한반도 평화 정착과 통일을 염원하는 메시지를 시민들에게 전달했다.

특히 이번 행사는 민주평통 북유럽협의회가 추진 중인 평화 걷기 캠페인 ‘6.15km for PEACE’와 연계해 진행돼 국내를 넘어 해외 협의회와 함께하는 국제적 평화 연대의 의미를 더했다.

고양시협의회는 앞서 지난 3월 독일 베를린 훔볼트대학교에서 민주평통 북유럽협의회와 평화통일 공감대 확산 및 공공외교 협력 강화를 위한 업무협약(MOU)을 체결한 바 있으며, 이번 행사는 그 협력의 연장선에서 마련됐다.

참가자들은 목적지인 길상사에 도착한 뒤 이날 열린 ‘제15회 고양 위령문화제 천년의 울림 위령재’에 함께 참여해 나라를 위해 헌신한 호국영령들의 숭고한 희생정신을 기리고 추모하는 시간을 가졌다.

이와 함께 현장에서는 시민들을 대상으로 ‘평화통일 100만 인터뷰 캠페인’도 진행됐다. 

참가자들은 통일과 평화에 대한 생각과 바람을 자유롭게 이야기하며 한반도 미래에 대한 다양한 의견을 공유했고, 시민들의 목소리는 영상으로 기록돼 평화통일 공감대 확산을 위한 자료로 활용될 예정이다.

김성주 협의회장은 “호국영령을 추모하며 내딛은 걸음 하나하나가 한반도 평화통일을 향한 굳건한 의지의 표현”이라며 “앞으로도 고양시민들과 긴밀히 소통하며 평화를 향한 발걸음을 멈추지 않고 이어가겠다”고 말했다.

한편 민주평화통일자문회의 고양시협의회는 이번 행사를 계기로 지역사회와 연계한 평화·통일 공공외교 활동을 더욱 확대하고, 시민이 함께 참여하는 다양한 평화통일 사업을 지속적으로 추진해 나갈 계획이다.

The Goyang City Council announced that it successfully concluded the ‘ONE DAY ONE RUN: Run Toward Peace!’ event on the 7th, with the participation of approximately 50 people, including Goyang citizens and advisory committee members.

On this day, participants walked together along a round-trip route of about 6.15km, starting from Goyang City Hall and ending at Gilsangsa Temple, delivering messages to citizens expressing their fervent hopes for the establishment of peace and unification on the Korean Peninsula.
