파주시가 여름철 집중호우와 이상기후로 인한 침수 피해를 예방하기 위해 현장 중심의 선제 대응에 나섰다.

파주시는 지난 8일 공릉천 일대에서 읍면동 공무원과 풍수해감시인 등 60여 명을 대상으로 ‘2026년 배수문 관리자 교육’을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

배수문은 집중호우 시 하천 수위 상승으로 인한 역류를 차단해 도심과 농경지의 침수 피해를 예방하는 핵심 방재시설이다.

최근 기후변화로 기습적인 폭우가 빈번해지면서 배수문의 신속하고 정확한 운영이 시민의 생명과 재산을 보호하는 중요한 요소로 떠오르고 있다.

이번 교육은 실제 재난 상황 발생 시 즉각적인 대응이 가능하도록 실습 위주로 진행됐다. 

참가자들은 배수문 권양기의 전동 및 수동 조작 방법을 익히고, 정전 등 비상 상황에서의 대응 절차를 숙지했다. 

또한 공릉천 현장에서 직접 배수문을 작동해보는 실전 훈련을 통해 현장 대응 능력을 강화했다.

아울러 돌발 상황 발생 시 신속한 상황 전파와 부서 간 협조 체계를 점검하는 등 재난 대응 체계 전반에 대한 교육도 함께 이뤄졌다. 

특히 관리자들이 직접 배수문을 조작하며 실제 상황에 대비한 경험을 쌓아 교육 효과를 높였다.

마주형 파주시 하천관리과장은 “이번 교육은 기습적인 집중호우에도 신속하고 효율적으로 대처할 수 있는 실무 능력을 기르는 데 중점을 두고 진행했다”며 “앞으로도 체계적인 배수문 운영과 철저한 관리를 통해 침수 피해를 예방하고 시민들이 안전하게 여름을 보낼 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
