고양특례시가 배움의 시기를 놓친 어르신들의 인생 이야기를 담은 특별한 전시회를 마련해 시민들의 관심을 모으고 있다.

고양시는 오는 6월 22일까지 일산동구 애니골길에 위치한 백마 화사랑에서 성인문해교육 학습자들의 작품을 선보이는 ‘높빛희망학교 시화작품 전시회’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 전시회는 평균 연령 70세의 성인문해교육 학습자들이 글을 배우며 직접 창작한 시와 그림을 시민들과 공유하기 위해 마련됐다.

전시장에는 총 83점의 시화 작품이 전시되며, 늦깎이 학생들이 배움을 통해 새롭게 써 내려간 삶의 이야기와 희망의 메시지를 담아 관람객들에게 깊은 감동을 전하고 있다.

특히 전시 기간 동안에는 학습자들이 직접 자신의 작품을 낭송하는 학년별 시낭송회도 함께 열려 작품에 담긴 진솔한 마음과 삶의 경험을 더욱 생생하게 전달할 예정이다.

전시회에 참여한 한 어르신은 “높빛희망학교는 내 인생의 환한 꽃길을 다시 걷게 해준 고마운 비단길”이라며 소감을 전했다.

이어 자신이 직접 쓴 시 ‘나의 꽃길 나의 비단길’을 통해 늦은 나이에 시작한 배움에 대한 감사와 설렘을 표현해 많은 이들의 공감을 얻고 있다.

고양시 관계자는 “어르신들이 정성스럽게 써 내려간 글씨와 그림에는 어떤 예술작품보다 큰 울림이 담겨 있다”며 “이번 전시가 배움을 망설이고 있는 시민들에게 새로운 도전의 용기와 희망을 전하는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.

한편 고양특례시가 운영하는 성인문해교육기관인 높빛희망학교는 초등 1년 과정과 중학 3년 과정의 학력인정 프로그램을 운영하고 있다. 

교육 기회를 놓친 성인과 어르신들을 대상으로 기초 학습능력 향상과 사회적 소통 능력 강화를 지원하며, 학습자들이 자신감을 회복하고 지역사회 구성원으로 적극 참여할 수 있도록 돕고 있다.

This exhibition was organized to share with citizens the poems and paintings created by adult literacy learners, whose average age is 70, as they learned to read and write.

A total of 83 works of poetry and painting are on display, conveying deep emotion to visitors through the life stories and messages of hope newly written by these late-blooming students through their learning. In particular, during the exhibition period, grade-level poetry recitation sessions will be held, where learners will personally recite their own works, aiming to vividly convey the sincere emotions and life experiences embedded in the pieces.
