제38회 고양행주문화제가 오는 13일과 14일 이틀간 고양시 행주산성 역사공원과 행주산성 일원에서 화려하게 펼쳐진다.

올해로 38회를 맞는 고양행주문화제는 ‘일상과 꿈을 이을 쐐기돌, 행주’를 슬로건으로 내걸고 역사와 문화, 공연, 체험이 어우러진 다양한 프로그램을 선보인다. 

특히 이번 축제는 7년 연속 경기대표관광축제로 선정되며 수도권 대표 역사문화축제로서의 위상을 다시 한번 입증하고 있다.

축제의 대표 프로그램인 ‘행주대첩 투석전’은 임진왜란 당시 행주대첩의 주요 전술을 현대적으로 재해석한 전국 박 터트리기 대회다.

올해는 참가 신청이 시작된 지 3일 만에 전 리그가 마감될 정도로 높은 관심을 받았다. 

사전 신청을 하지 못한 방문객들을 위해 오후 2시부터 누구나 참여할 수 있는 체험 경기장도 별도로 운영된다.

축제의 밤을 장식할 ‘행주 드론불꽃쇼’도 기대를 모으고 있다.

13일과 14일 오후 8시 35분경 진행되는 드론불꽃쇼에서는 불꽃 장치를 장착한 800여 대의 드론과 한강 수상 불꽃놀이가 어우러져 신기전과 비격진천뢰 등 행주대첩의 전략 화기를 밤하늘에 웅장하게 구현할 예정이다.

문화 공연도 풍성하게 마련된다. 

13일 오후 8시에 열리는 개막식에서는 JTBC ‘싱어게인’ 등을 통해 대중에게 알려진 조선팝 밴드 ‘서도밴드’가 출정식을 주제로 한 무대를 선보인다.

이어 14일 오후 7시 폐막식에서는 민·관·군이 함께 이뤄낸 승리의 역사를 담은 창작 뮤지컬 ‘행주대첩’이 대단원의 막을 장식한다.

이 밖에도 한국민속촌 출신 배우들이 권율장군과 밥할머니 등 역사 속 인물로 분해 관람객과 소통하는 마당극 ‘행주맨돌마을’, 고양문화원의 전통 공연, 고양버스커즈의 거리예술 공연 등 다양한 문화예술 프로그램이 행사장 곳곳에서 펼쳐진다.

가족 단위 방문객을 위한 체험 프로그램도 준비됐다. 

역사미션 게임 ‘행주를 지켜라!’는 행주산성 곳곳에 마련된 미션을 수행하며 자연스럽게 역사를 배울 수 있는 에듀테인먼트 프로그램이다. 

참가자들은 모든 미션을 완료하면 자신만의 AI 장군 캐릭터를 제작할 수 있다.

행주체험마당에서는 신기전 만들기, 행주 목판인쇄 체험, 국가무형유산 불화장과 함께하는 연꽃무늬 부채 만들기, 도자 체험, 캐리커처, 페이스페인팅 등 남녀노소 누구나 즐길 수 있는 체험 프로그램이 운영된다.

고양시는 무더위 속에서도 관람객들이 안전하고 쾌적하게 축제를 즐길 수 있도록 다양한 편의시설을 마련했다.

모든 프로그램 시작 시간을 오후 2시 이후로 조정해 한낮의 폭염을 피하도록 했으며, 행사장 곳곳에 그늘쉼터를 설치하고 장군 모자 형태의 종이 썬캡을 무료로 배포할 예정이다.

또한 축제 화폐인 ‘행주엽전’을 도입해 프로그램 참여와 이벤트를 통해 획득한 엽전으로 행사장 내 체험 프로그램과 인근 상점에서 할인 및 서비스 혜택을 받을 수 있도록 했다.

교통편도 대폭 확대된다. 

축제 기간 동안 대곡역과 행사장을 연결하는 무료 셔틀버스가 운행되며, 행사장을 경유하는 11번 시내버스도 증차 운행된다. 

다만 고양인재교육원과 행주산성 제1공영주차장은 행사 기간 이용이 제한되며, 방문객들은 고양한강공원 주차장과 행주산성 제2공영주차장, 행주초등학교 운동장에 마련된 임시주차장을 이용해야 한다.

고양시 관계자는 “올해 고양행주문화제는 역사와 문화, 체험과 공연이 어우러진 시민 참여형 축제로 준비했다”며 “행주대첩의 역사적 의미를 되새기고 가족과 함께 특별한 추억을 만들 수 있는 시간이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
