경기북부보훈지청이 6월 호국보훈의 달을 맞아 국가를 위해 희생하고 헌신한 이들의 숭고한 정신을 기리기 위한 다양한 행사를 추진한다.

오는 6월 6일 제71회 현충일을 맞아 지역별 현충탑에서는 순국선열과 호국영령을 추모하는 추념식이 엄숙하게 거행된다. 

이어 6월 25일에는 6·25전쟁 제76주년 기념행사가 열려 전쟁의 역사적 의미를 되새기고 참전유공자들의 명예를 기리는 시간을 갖는다.

또한 6월 12일 파주시 일원에서는 「히어로즈 리턴, 조국의 품으로」 유해발굴 체험행사가 진행된다. 

학생과 시민들이 6·25전쟁 전사자 유해발굴 현장을 직접 체험하며 전쟁의 아픔과 평화의 소중함을 배우는 뜻깊은 기회가 될 전망이다.

국민들이 보다 쉽고 친근하게 보훈 문화를 접할 수 있도록 다양한 참여형 문화행사도 마련됐다. 

현충일인 6월 6일 의정부시 중랑천 동막교 광장에서는 ‘제5회 언제나 보훈 페스티벌’이 개최된다.
