국민의힘 고양시장 후보인 이동환이 지난 21일 하늘목장교회에서 열린 ‘국사봉 화정동 그린벨트해제 추진위원회 총회’에 참석해 주민들의 오랜 숙원인 개발제한구역 해제 문제 해결에 적극 나서겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다.

이날 총회는 덕양구 화정동 132-3번지 일원 약 1만6894㎡ 규모의 ‘국사봉취락’ 주민들을 중심으로 진행됐다.

해당 지역은 지난 2017년 경기도 고시 제2017-64호에 따라 집단취락지구로 지정됐지만, 이후 수년간 개발제한구역 해제가 이뤄지지 않으면서 주민들의 불편이 이어져 왔다.

총회에 참석한 주민들은 장기간 그린벨트 규제로 인해 재산권 행사에 제약을 받아왔다며 생활환경 개선에도 어려움을 겪고 있다고 호소했다. 

특히 노후 주거환경 정비와 기반시설 개선이 사실상 어려운 상황이라며, 국사봉취락 일대의 개발제한구역 해제와 합리적인 용도지역 변경이 필요하다고 주장했다.

주민들의 의견을 청취한 이동환 후보는 현안 해결을 위해 관계 법령과 행정 절차를 면밀히 검토하겠다고 밝혔다. 

그는 시장에 당선될 경우 관련 용역예산을 우선 편성해 국사봉취락의 개발제한구역 해제 가능성을 다각도로 검토하겠다고 설명했다.
