국민의힘 이동환 고양시장 후보가 공식 선거운동 첫날인 21일 화정역 광장에서 '국민의힘 고양시 후보자 합동출정식'을 열고 6·3 지방선거 본격 선거전 돌입을 선언했다.

이날 출정식은 비가 오락가락하는 궂은 날씨에도 300여 명의 유권자와 지지자, 선거운동원들이 참석한 가운데 약 1시간 동안 열기 넘치는 분위기 속에 진행됐다.

참가자들은 이동환 후보와 국민의힘 후보들을 향해 박수와 함성을 보내며 선거 승리에 대한 의지를 다졌다.

이동환 후보는 출정 연설에서 현재 대한민국이 직면한 경제 위기를 정면으로 언급하며 더불어민주당을 향한 강도 높은 비판을 쏟아냈다. 

그는 "고유가·고환율·고물가의 '3고 위기' 속에서 청년 일자리는 사라지고 소상공인들의 삶은 벼랑 끝으로 내몰리고 있다"며 경제 상황의 심각성을 강조했다.

이 후보는 "노란봉투법 강행으로 기업의 생존권이 위협받고 있고, 공소취소 특별법 발의 등으로 범죄 혐의자들이 나라를 흔드는 상황까지 벌어졌다"며 "개헌을 통한 장기 독재 시도는 자유민주주의의 근간을 흔드는 행위"라고 주장했다. 

그러면서 "오는 6월 3일 지방선거는 대한민국과 고양시의 미래를 결정짓는 엄중한 심판의 날"이라며 지지층의 결집과 적극적인 투표 참여를 호소했다.

비판에 이어 이 후보는 고양시의 미래 비전도 제시했다. 

그는 "경제자유구역 지정과 대기업 유치, 교통망 확충 등 지난 4년 동안 뿌려온 변화의 씨앗을 이제 제대로 꽃피워야 할 시점"이라며 "고양시를 경제 중심 자족도시로 완성하겠다"고 밝혔다. 

또 "시정의 발목을 잡는 세력이 아니라 고양시 발전을 위한 강력한 경제 엔진이 필요하다"며 "저 이동환과 함께 뛰는 유능한 국민의힘 후보들을 압도적으로 지지해달라"고 강조했다.

이날 행사에서는 고양시 지역 출마자를 대표해 강주내 경기도의원 후보가 필승 결의문을 낭독했다.

국민의힘 후보들은 결의문을 통해 ▲책임지는 공직사회 구현 ▲민생 중심의 보수 가치 실현 ▲분열을 넘어선 정책 경쟁 ▲낡은 관행 타파 등을 약속했다.

행사 말미에는 이동환 후보를 비롯한 국민의힘 후보 전원이 단상에 올라 "선거일까지 단 한 순간도 멈추지 않고 오직 고양시민만 바라보며 뛰겠다"고 다짐했다. 

이어 참석자들과 함께 "오직 고양, 오직 시민, 다시 국민의힘"이라는 구호를 외치며 출정식을 마무리했다.
