이동환 국민의힘 고양시장 후보가 교통·지역산업·시민 안전 등 민생 현장을 직접 찾아 시민들의 목소리를 청취하며 ‘현장 중심’ 행보를 이어갔다. 

이 후보는 19일 식사동과 화정동 일대를 돌며 주민 불편 해소와 지역 현안 해결 의지를 강조했다.

이 후보는 이날 오후 3시 식사사거리를 방문해 고양은평선 식사동 연장을 촉구하며 1인 시위를 진행 중인 주민들과 만났다. 

현장에서는 출퇴근 시간 극심한 교통 혼잡과 대중교통 부족 문제를 호소하는 주민들의 목소리가 이어졌다. 

주민들이 들고 있던 피켓에는 ‘고양-은평선 식사 연장’, ‘출·퇴근 2시간 고통’, ‘식사·풍동 10만 주민 지하철 한번 타보자’ 등의 문구가 적혀 있어 지역 주민들의 오랜 교통난을 보여줬다.

이후 이 후보는 화정동 선거캠프로 이동해 지역 산업과 시민 안전 강화를 위한 연쇄 간담회를 이어갔다. 

먼저 고양시 화훼연합회 관계자들과 만나 지역 화훼산업 활성화 방안에 대해 의견을 나눴다. 

간담회에서는 화훼 테마파크 조성, 생산·유통 인프라 확충, 후계농 육성, 고양시와 화훼업계 간 상설 협의체 구성 등 지역 특화 산업 경쟁력 강화를 위한 다양한 제안이 논의됐다.

이어 열린 해병전우회 간담회에서는 시민 안전과 재난 대응 체계 구축을 주제로 논의가 진행됐다. 참석자들은 지역 사회 봉사활동 확대와 재난 발생 시 민·관 협력 체계 강화 필요성에 공감하며 실질적인 협력 방안을 공유했다.
