이동환 국민의힘 고양시장 후보가 저출생 위기 극복과 현장 중심의 보육 정책 마련을 위해 보육 현장의 목소리를 직접 청취하며 정책 행보를 이어가고 있다.

이 후보는 18일 오후 화정동 선거사무소에서 고양어린이집연합회 소속 회원 50여 명과 함께 ‘보육·교육 관련 간담회’를 열고, 영유아 보육 현장의 애로사항과 개선 과제에 대한 의견을 나눴다.

이번 간담회는 어린이집 운영 현장에서 겪는 현실적인 문제를 직접 듣고, 지속 가능한 공공보육 정책 방향을 모색하기 위해 마련됐다.

이날 간담회에서는 보육 교사들이 과도한 행정 업무로 인해 정작 아이 돌봄에 집중하기 어려운 현실에 대한 문제 제기가 이어졌다. 

연합회 회원들은 시에 제출하는 각종 보고서와 지방보조금관리시스템인 ‘보탬e사업’ 관련 서류 절차가 지나치게 복잡하다며, 행정 간소화가 시급하다고 건의했다.

이에 대해 이동환 후보는 “보육 교사들이 서류 작업에 치여 아이들을 돌보는 본연의 역할에 집중하지 못하는 구조는 반드시 개선돼야 한다”며 “시 보고서와 보탬e 사업 관련 행정 절차를 최대한 간소화할 수 있는 구체적인 방안을 적극 검토하겠다”고 밝혔다.

간담회에 앞서 고양어린이집연합회는 보육 현장의 요구를 담은 6대 핵심 과제를 이 후보 측에 전달했다. 

제안서에는 어린이집 운영 안정화 지원, 보육 교직원 처우 개선, 돌봄 공백 해소를 위한 공공성 강화 등의 내용이 담겼다.

이동환 후보는 재임 시절 추진했던 보육 정책 성과도 강조했다. 

그는 4~5세 무상보육 도입과 야간연장 어린이집 확대 등 공공보육 기반 확충 정책을 추진해 왔으며, 이러한 정책 성과를 바탕으로 고양시는 2024년부터 2026년까지 3년 연속 ‘국가대표브랜드대상’ 아이 키우기 좋은 도시 부문 대상을 수상한 바 있다고 설명했다.
