고양특례시가 최근 국제 유가 상승으로 인한 시민들의 가계 부담을 덜고 탄소중립 실현을 앞당기기 위해 전기자동차 보급 확대에 속도를 낸다. 

시는 추가 확보한 예산과 하반기 예정 물량을 통합해 ‘2026년 전기자동차 보급사업 2차 접수’를 당초 계획보다 앞당겨 오는 5월 27일부터 시행한다고 18일 밝혔다.

이번 조치는 상반기 전기차 보조금이 빠르게 소진되면서 발생할 수 있는 보급 공백을 최소화하고, 시민들의 전기차 구매 수요에 선제적으로 대응하기 위한 결정으로 풀이된다.

2차 사업을 통해 지원되는 물량은 총 1,310대로, 차종별로는 전기승용차 1,050대, 전기화물차 250대, 전기승합차 10대다. 

보조금은 차량 성능과 규모에 따라 차등 지급되며, 일부 계층에 대해서는 추가 혜택도 제공된다.

특히 청년층과 다자녀가구, 소상공인 등을 위한 맞춤형 추가 지원이 포함돼 눈길을 끈다. 

청년 생애 최초 차량 구매자에게는 별도 인센티브가 제공되며, 다자녀가구와 소상공인 역시 조건에 따라 추가 보조금을 받을 수 있다.

시는 내연기관 차량 감축과 친환경 교통체계 전환을 유도하기 위한 ‘전환지원금’ 제도도 함께 운영한다. 

개인이 3년 이상 보유한 내연기관 차량(하이브리드 제외)을 폐차하거나 매매한 뒤 전기차를 신규 구매할 경우 기존 보조금 외에 최대 130만 원의 추가 지원금을 받을 수 있다.

지원 대상은 구매지원 신청일 기준 고양시에 30일 이상 연속해 주소를 둔 개인과 개인사업자, 법인 등이다. 

신청 절차는 자동차 제작·수입사 대리점과 차량 구매 계약을 체결한 뒤 지원신청서를 작성하면 되며, 이후 접수 과정은 제작·수입사가 환경부 무공해차 통합누리집을 통해 대행한다.
