파주시와 파주시청소년재단 교하청소년문화의집이 5월 청소년의 달을 맞아 지난 16일 운정호수공원 잔디광장에서 ‘2026년 파주시 청소년의 달 및 성년의 날 기념행사’를 성황리에 개최했다.

이번 행사는 청소년들이 직접 기획하고 선정한 ‘어스 포어 어스(EARTH FOR US)’를 슬로건으로 내세워 진행됐다.

 ‘우리를 위한 지구를 지키자’는 친환경 메시지를 중심으로, 청소년과 시민들이 함께 환경 보호의 의미를 되새기고 실천하는 축제의 장으로 꾸며졌다.

행사의 시작은 파주시립소년소녀합창단의 식전 공연이 장식했다. 

이어 청소년헌장 낭독과 표창 수여, 기념사 등이 진행되며 청소년의 달의 의미를 더했다. 

이날 행사에서는 타의 모범이 되는 청소년과 지역 시민들에게 경기도지사 및 파주시장 표창이 수여됐으며, 최근 큰 관심을 모은 ‘청소년 인공지능(AI) 쇼츠대회’ 우수작 수상자들에게도 파주시장상이 전달돼 큰 호응을 얻었다.

기념식 이후에는 청소년들이 직접 참여한 공연과 함께 환경과 참여를 주제로 한 다양한 체험 부스가 운영됐다. 

특히 참가자들이 운정호수공원을 함께 걸으며 환경 관련 과제를 수행하는 ‘에코워크’ 프로그램은 가족 단위 시민들의 큰 관심을 끌었다. 

참가자들은 활동을 통해 일상 속 환경 보호의 중요성을 자연스럽게 체험하는 시간을 가졌다.

이번 행사에서는 지역사회 청소년 지원체계를 알리기 위한 ‘청소년안전망 연합 아우트리치’ 활동도 함께 진행됐다. 

현장에는 파주시 청소년안전망팀과 청소년상담복지센터, 청소년지원센터, 정신건강복지센터, 파주시여자단기청소년쉼터, 아동보호전문기관, 파주맘 등 총 7개 청소년 유관기관 및 단체가 참여해 기관별 특색을 살린 체험 프로그램과 홍보 활동을 펼쳤다. 

이를 통해 시민들에게 청소년안전망의 역할을 알리고 위기 청소년 발굴과 지원에 대한 지역사회의 관심을 높였다.

파주시 관계자는 “청소년의 푸르름을 닮은 5월에 청소년과 가족들이 함께 어우러질 수 있는 뜻깊은 자리를 마련하게 되어 기쁘다”라며 “앞으로도 미래의 주역인 청소년들이 건강하고 행복하게 성장할 수 있도록 지속적인 관심과 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 말했다.
