파주시 문산도서관이 고려인 동포의 역사와 현재를 짚는 시민 강연을 열고 참가자를 모집한다.

오는 28일 오후 2시부터 4시까지 문산도서관에서 열리는 이번 행사는 재외동포청 주관의 '찾아가는 재외동포 이해교육' 프로그램으로 운영되며 강사는 전국 고려인마을 현장 연구로 이름난 임영상 한국외국어대학교 명예교수가 맡는다.

강연은 1920~30년대 연해주에서 뿌리내린 고려인의 삶과 정체성, 1937년 스탈린 정권 아래 단행된 중앙아시아 강제 이주의 비극, 그리고 소련 붕괴 후 고국을 찾아 돌아온 귀환 동포들의 정착 과정과 오늘의 일상을 두루 조명하며 임 교수의 저서 「한국에서 고려인마을을 찾다」를 바탕으로, 지역사회가 함께 모색할 수 있는 통합과 공존 방안도 논의한다.

문산도서관은 지난 1월 사할린 한인 동포를 주제로 한 초청 강연을 운영한 바 있으며, 이번 고려인 특강으로 재외동포 이해 교육의 폭을 넓혀간다는 구상이고 귀환 동포 약 86만 명과 외국인 주민 300만 명이 공존하는 현실을 반영해, 지역 안에서 포용과 다문화 감수성을 키우려는 취지다.

Paju Munsan Library is recruiting participants for a citizen lecture that examines the history and present of Koryo-jin compatriots.

This event, to be held at Munsan Library from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on the upcoming 28th, will be operated as part of the "Visiting Education for Understanding Overseas Koreans" program organized by the Overseas Koreans Agency. The lecturer will be Professor Emeritus Lim Young-sang of Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, renowned for his field research on Koryo-jin villages across the country.

The lecture will shed light on the lives and identities of Koryo-jin who took root in the Maritime Province of Russia during the 1920s and 1930s, the tragedy of the forced migration to Central Asia carried out under the Stalin regime in 1937, and the settlement process and daily lives of repatriated compatriots who returned to their homeland after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Based on Professor Lim's book, *Finding Koryo-jin Villages in Korea*, the lecture will also discuss ways for integration and coexistence that the local community can explore together. Munsan Library previously hosted an invited lecture on the topic of Korean compatriots in Sakhalin last January, and with this special lecture on Koryo-jin (ethnic Koreans from Central Asia), the library plans to broaden the scope of education for understanding overseas Koreans. Reflecting the reality where approximately 860,000 repatriated compatriots and 3 million foreign residents coexist, the event aims to foster inclusion and multicultural sensitivity within the community.
