고양특례시가 여름철 집중호우와 침수 피해 예방을 위해 관내 배수펌프장에 대한 일제 점검과 시험 가동에 나선다.

고양특례시는 오는 5월 15일부터 시작되는 ‘여름철 자연재해 대책기간’을 앞두고 관내 배수펌프장 시설 전반에 대한 사전 점검 및 시험 운전을 실시한다고 9일 밝혔다.

배수펌프장은 집중호우로 하천 수위가 상승해 자연 배수가 어려워질 경우, 저지대에 고인 빗물을 강제로 하천으로 배출하는 핵심 방재 시설이다.

특히 최근 기후 변화로 국지성 호우와 돌발성 폭우가 빈번해지면서 침수 피해 예방을 위한 배수 시스템의 중요성이 더욱 커지고 있다.

시는 이번 점검을 통해 관내 10개 배수펌프장에 설치된 총 81대의 배수펌프를 대상으로 실제 재난 상황을 가정한 시험 운전을 진행할 계획이다.
