화사한 철쭉이 장관을 이루는 경남 합천 황매산이 이번에는 푸른 숲을 지키기 위한 시민들의 따뜻한 실천으로 더욱 빛났다.

사단법인 한국숲사랑총연합회 경기지역(총재 김필례)은 지난 9일, 경남 합천군 황매산 일대에서 등산객과 관광객을 대상으로 ‘산불예방 캠페인 및 산림 환경정화 활동’을 성황리에 마쳤다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사에는 김필례 경기지역 총재를 비롯해 조금복 사무총장, 송용운 고문, 정정희 부총재 등 주요 임원진과 회원 40여 명이 참여해 황매산 곳곳에서 환경보호 활동에 힘을 보탰다.

참가자들은 등산로 입구와 주요 탐방 지점에서 관광객들에게 산불 예방 수칙이 담긴 홍보 활동을 진행하며 산림 보전의 중요성을 적극 알렸다. 

이어 황매산 일대를 돌며 무단 투기된 쓰레기를 수거하는 환경정화 활동도 함께 실시해 쾌적한 산림 환경 조성에 앞장섰다.

특히 황매산은 철쭉 개화 시기를 맞아 전국 각지에서 방문객이 몰린 상황이었지만, 회원들의 체계적이고 질서 있는 캠페인 활동은 관광객들의 자발적인 참여와 공감을 이끌어내며 현장 분위기를 더욱 훈훈하게 만들었다.

한국숲사랑총연합회 경기지역은 지속적인 산림보호 활동으로 지역사회에 귀감이 되고 있다.

이와 함께 지역사회 상생을 위한 ‘이웃돕기 나눔 고구마 심기’ 봉사활동도 준비 중으로, 자연 보호를 넘어 이웃과 함께하는 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 이어갈 계획이다.

김필례 경기지역 총재는 “산불은 작은 부주의 하나로도 오랜 시간 가꿔온 숲을 한순간에 잃게 만들 수 있다”며 “이번 캠페인이 건강한 산림문화를 조성하는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다. 

이어 “앞으로도 숲을 지키고 가꾸는 활동은 물론, 지역사회와 온정을 나누는 봉사활동에도 적극 나서겠다”고 밝혔다.
