파주시가 어린이날을 맞아 가족 단위 방문객이 모인 현장에서 아동학대 예방과 아동 권리 증진을 위한 적극적인 홍보 활동을 펼쳤다.

파주시는 지난 5월 4일부터 5일까지 이틀간 파주출판단지에서 열린 ‘어린이 책잔치’ 행사장에서 아동 보호의 중요성을 알리고 건강한 양육 문화를 확산하기 위한 캠페인을 진행했다고 밝혔다. 

이번 활동은 아시아출판문화정보센터를 찾은 시민들을 대상으로 자연스럽게 아동 권리의 가치를 전달하는 데 초점을 맞췄다.

특히 이번 캠페인은 파주시를 중심으로 파주시아동보호전문기관, 파주경찰서가 함께 참여한 민·관·경 협력 사업으로 추진돼 의미를 더했다. 

단순한 홍보를 넘어 시민들이 직접 체험하고 공감할 수 있는 프로그램을 통해 긍정적인 양육 환경 조성에 기여했다는 평가다.

현장에서는 ‘긍정양육 129원칙’을 중심으로 한 다양한 체험 프로그램이 운영됐다. 

부모와 자녀가 서로를 존중하는 양육 방식을 안내하는 홍보 활동을 비롯해, 퀴즈 형식으로 아동의 4대 권리를 배우는 ‘아동 권리 돌림판’, 아이들의 감정을 표현하는 ‘감정 책갈피 만들기’와 ‘소원나무 꾸미기’ 등 참여형 콘텐츠가 큰 호응을 얻었다. 

또한 캠페인 메시지를 담은 희망 풍선을 배부해 축제 분위기 속에서 자연스럽게 아동 보호 인식을 확산시켰다.

파주시는 예방 중심의 활동과 함께 위기 아동 보호 체계 강화에도 힘을 쏟고 있다. 

시는 위기아동보호센터를 중심으로 경찰 및 전문기관과 협력해 아동학대 의심 사례 발생 시 발견부터 개입, 보호, 사후 지원까지 이어지는 통합 ‘원스톱’ 대응 시스템을 운영 중이다.

김진아 파주시 보육아동과장은 “아동학대 예방은 지역사회 전체의 관심과 참여가 함께할 때 비로소 완성된다”라며 “아이들이 안전하고 존중받는 환경에서 성장할 수 있도록 현장 중심의 예방 활동과 촘촘한 보호 체계를 지속적으로 강화해 나가겠다”라고 밝혔다.

한편 ‘긍정양육 129원칙’은 자녀를 독립된 인격체로 존중하는 철학을 바탕으로, 부모와 자녀 간 이해와 신뢰를 핵심 원리로 삼고 있다.
