고양시가 지역 청년들의 실질적인 성장을 돕기 위해 이달 두 가지 특색 있는 교육 프로그램을 잇달아 선보인다.

첫 번째는 최근 급성장하고 있는 캐릭터 산업(IP) 분야에 주목한 '캐릭터 창작 과정'이다. 

고양시 내일꿈제작소 입주기업인 '박기린 스튜디오'와의 협업으로 전문성을 높인 이 과정은 5월 6일부터 27일까지 매주 수요일, 총 4주에 걸쳐 진행된다. 

단순 드로잉 기술을 익히는 데 그치지 않고 캐릭터 기획, 디자인 완성, 결과물 공개에 이르는 창작의 전 과정을 직접 체험할 수 있도록 구성된 것이 특징이다.

두 번째는 사회초년생과 취업·이직 준비 청년을 위한 '슬기로운 직장생활' 프로그램이다. 

평일에 시간 내기 어려운 청년들을 고려해 토요일(5월 9일, 16일, 총 2회)에 편성됐다. 

커리큘럼은 비즈니스 매너와 조직 내 갈등 관리, 직무 노하우 등 현장에서 바로 쓸 수 있는 실질적인 내용으로 채워진다. 

직장 생활에 막 발을 들인 사회초년생은 물론 취업 준비생, 이직을 고민 중인 청년이라면 누구든 참여할 수 있다.

두 프로그램 모두 고양시에 거주하거나 재학·재직 중인 만 18세 이상 39세 이하 청년이라면 신청 가능하다. 

교육 장소는 고양시 내일꿈제작소이며, 내일꿈제작소 누리집(홈페이지)을 통해 온라인으로 접수하면 된다.

고양시 관계자는 "이번 프로그램은 청년들이 자신을 발견하고 내일을 설계할 수 있도록 기획했다"며 "진로 고민은 물론 새로운 교류를 원하는 청년들의 많은 참여를 바란다"고 밝혔다.

앞서 시는 지난 4월 퍼스널 컬러 교육과 노션(Notion) 활용법 강좌를 성황리에 마치며 청년 실무 역량 강화에 속도를 내고 있다.

 5월에도 이어지는 프로그램들은 지역 청년들이 지역 안에서 함께 배우고 성장할 수 있는 기회가 될 것으로 기대된다.

Goyang City is launching two distinctive educational programs this month to support the practical growth of local youth.

The first is the "Character Creation Course," which focuses on the rapidly growing field of character industry (IP).

Enhanced professionalism through collaboration with "Park Kirin Studio," a resident company of the Goyang City Tomorrow Dream Workshop, this course will run for a total of four weeks, every Wednesday from May 6 to May 27.

It is characterized by a structure that allows participants to directly experience the entire creative process—from character planning and design completion to the public unveiling of the final product—going beyond simply mastering drawing skills.

The second is the "Wise Workplace Life" program, designed for recent graduates and young people preparing for employment or career changes. To accommodate young people who find it difficult to make time on weekdays, the program has been scheduled for Saturdays (May 9 and 16, a total of two sessions).

The curriculum is filled with practical content that can be immediately applied in the field, such as business etiquette, conflict management within an organization, and job know-how.

Anyone can participate, including those just entering the workforce, job seekers, and young people considering a career change.

Both programs are open to young people aged 18 to 39 who reside, are currently studying, or are employed in Goyang City.

The training will take place at the Goyang City Tomorrow Dream Workshop, and applications can be submitted online through the workshop's website.

A Goyang City official stated, "This program was designed to help young people discover themselves and plan their future," adding, "We hope for active participation from young people seeking new connections as well as career concerns."

Previously, the city successfully completed personal color training and Notion usage courses last April, accelerating efforts to strengthen the practical skills of young people. The programs continuing into May are expected to provide local youth with an opportunity to learn and grow together within the community.
