고양시에서 활동하는 (사)한국숲사랑총연합회 경기지역 고양시지회가 나라 사랑의 마음을 담아 무궁화동산 가꾸기에 나서며 지역사회에 의미 있는 발걸음을 이어가고 있다.

고양시지회는 지난 2일 일산동구 도촌천 일대에 조성된 무궁화동산에서 ‘나라사랑 무궁화 꽃가꾸기’ 봉사활동을 실시했다. 

이번 활동은 고양시 보조사업의 일환으로 추진됐으며, 도시 환경 개선과 녹지 생태계 보존을 위해 지역 주민들이 자발적으로 참여했다는 점에서 의미를 더했다.

이날 현장에는 김필례 경기지역 총재를 비롯해 조금복 사무총장, 홍두표 수석부총재, 유재철 고양시지회장 등 주요 관계자와 회원 50여 명이 참여했다. 

참가자들은 무궁화나무의 건강한 생육을 돕기 위한 전지 작업에 구슬땀을 흘리는 한편, 하천 주변에 방치된 쓰레기를 수거하며 환경 정화 활동도 함께 펼쳤다.

특히 이번 봉사활동에는 정당을 초월한 지역 정치인들도 동참해 눈길을 끌었다. 

국민의힘 소속 손동숙 시의원과 정형배 도의원 출마 예정자, 더불어민주당 임홍렬 시의원, 무소속 출마 예정인 김미경 시의원 등이 현장을 찾아 힘을 보탰다.

김필례 경기지역 총재는 “도촌천 무궁화동산이 시민들에게 사랑받는 휴식 공간으로 자리 잡기를 바란다”며 “앞으로도 지속적인 환경보호 활동을 통해 숲과 녹지의 소중함을 알리고 쾌적한 자연환경 조성에 앞장서겠다”고 말했다.

한편 한국숲사랑총연합회 경기지역은 산림 보호를 넘어 다양한 공익활동도 이어가고 있다. 

지난달 25일에는 포천시지회와 함께 장애인과 독거 어르신을 위한 자장면 무료급식 봉사를 진행했으며, 매달 수도권 주요 등산로에서 산불 예방 캠페인과 환경 정화 활동을 실시하고 있다. 

이 밖에도 다문화 가족과 함께하는 고구마 심기, 취약계층을 위한 연탄 나눔 등 다양한 사회공헌 활동을 통해 지역사회에 따뜻한 나눔을 실천하고 있다.

On the 2nd, the Goyang Branch conducted a volunteer activity titled “Treating Rose of Sharon with Love for the Country” at the Rose of Sharon Garden established along Dochon Stream in Ilsandong-gu.

On the 25th of last month, together with the Pocheon City Branch, they provided free Jajangmyeon meals for the disabled and elderly people living alone. Additionally, they conduct forest fire prevention campaigns and environmental cleanup activities on major hiking trails in the metropolitan area every month.
