어린이날을 앞둔 가정의 달 5월, 경기 파주시에서 아이들의 작은 발걸음이 따뜻한 나눔으로 이어지는 뜻깊은 행사가 열렸다.

파주시 0세아 전용 어린이집 연합회는 지난 25일 운정호수공원 일원에서 '제1회 발맞춰 톡톡(Talk Talk)' 걷기 행사를 개최했다. 

관내 19개 0세아 전용 어린이집 원장과 학부모, 영아들이 한자리에 모인 이번 행사는 단순한 나들이를 넘어 영유아의 권리와 존중의 가치를 시민들과 함께 나누는 자리로 마련됐다.

이날 걷기 행사의 핵심은 '느림'이었다. 참가자들은 어른의 보폭을 내려놓고 영아들의 작은 발걸음에 속도를 맞추며 나란히 호수 주변을 걸었다. 

자연스럽게 오가는 대화 속에서 가족 간 유대가 깊어졌고, 아이를 독립된 인격체로 바라보는 보육 철학이 몸소 체험으로 전해졌다.

연합회 관계자는 "아이의 속도에 맞춰 걷는다는 것은 단순한 야외 활동이 아니라, 아이를 존중하는 철학을 실천하는 것"이라며 "이 경험이 학부모와 교사 모두에게 아이 중심 보육의 의미를 되새기는 계기가 되길 바랐다"고 전했다.

행사의 의미는 걷기에서 멈추지 않았다.

연합회는 행사 이틀 뒤인 27일, 행사를 통해 조성된 수익금 약 100만 원을 파주시 장애인 사회복지시설 '주람동산'에 전달했다.

영유아의 권리 존중이라는 출발점이 사회적 약자를 향한 배려와 나눔으로 확장된 것이다.

현재 파주시에는 총 19개소가 운영 중이며, 지역사회와 연계한 다양한 나눔·참여 활동을 통해 보육 기관으로서의 사회적 책임을 꾸준히 실천해 왔다.

이번 행사에는 가람푸른동산, 건영, 금촌사임당, 대방선애아이, 도담, 딸기, 리틀베베, 벽산늘푸른, 사랑가득한, 샤인붐, 소망아기, 소소, 시드아이, 아이원, 아이조은, 에덴아이, 엔젤키즈, 아이숲, 팜스프링베이비 등 19개 어린이집이 모두 참여해 연합회의 뜻을 하나로 모았다.

파주시는 이번 행사를 긍정적으로 평가하며 영유아 권리 존중 문화 확산에 함께 힘을 보태겠다는 뜻을 밝혔다.
