봄기운이 완연한 가운데, 고양시 지역사회에 따뜻한 나눔의 물결이 퍼지고 있다. 

적십자 정발산봉사회가 자발적인 수익사업을 통해 마련한 기금을 장애인 복지시설에 전달하며 ‘연대’의 가치를 몸소 실천했다.

이번 나눔은 지난 3월 27일부터 29일까지 사흘간 진행된 크록스 샌들 판매 행사에서 시작됐다. 

매일 오후 1시부터 저녁 8시까지 이어진 판매전에서 봉사원들은 시민들과 직접 소통하며 기금 마련에 구슬땀을 흘렸다. 

단순한 물품 판매를 넘어 자발적 참여와 협력이 어우러진 이번 행사는 지역사회 나눔의 의미를 더욱 깊게 했다.

행사를 통해 마련된 수익금은 장애인 복지시설인 ‘한국달리다굼선교회 사랑의집’에 전달됐으며, 시설 거주자들을 위한 필수 생활물품 구입에 사용될 예정이다. 

실질적인 도움으로 이어지는 나눔이라는 점에서 그 의미를 더했다.

현장에는 정의구 회장을 비롯해 정기만 고문, 오강민 부회장, 지 숙 재무, 정성철 홍보부장, 김세경·정현정 회원 등 봉사회 핵심 인력들이 직접 참여해 운영 전반을 이끌었다. 

특히 실무를 맡은 지 숙 재무는 “작은 움직임이지만 시설에 꼭 필요한 도움이 되기를 바란다”며 “앞으로도 일회성에 그치지 않고 지속적인 지원 방안을 고민하겠다”고 밝혔다.

이번 활동에는 한국민속문화협회도 함께하며 나눔의 폭을 넓혔다. 

정운란 회장과 회원들은 판매와 홍보를 도우며 현장의 활기를 더했고, 향후 협력도 이어가겠다는 뜻을 전했다. 

시민들의 참여 역시 이어졌다. 행사장을 찾은 주민들은 봉사의 취지에 공감하며 기꺼이 동참했고, 현장에서는 따뜻한 공감과 응원의 분위기가 이어졌다.

한 봉사자는 “물건을 파는 것이 아니라 이웃의 마음을 나누는 시간이었다”며 “작은 실천이 누군가에게 큰 희망이 될 수 있다는 것을 다시 느꼈다”고 소회를 전했다.

정발산봉사회는 평소에도 재난구호와 취약계층 지원에 앞장서며 지역사회에서 중요한 역할을 해왔다.
