김경일 파주시장이 2026년 시정 비전을 시민과 나누고 현장의 목소리를 직접 듣기 위한 대규모 소통 행보를 마무리했다.

파주시는 지난 1월 26일 장단면을 시작으로 2월 6일 교하동까지 관내 20개 읍면동을 순회하며 진행한 '2026년 시정운영계획 설명회 및 이동시장실'을 성황리에 마쳤다고 밝혔다.

한겨울 추위 속에서도 약 1,000여 명의 시민이 참석해 파주의 미래에 대한 뜨거운 관심을 보였다.

김경일 시장은 이번 설명회에서 민선8기 파주시의 핵심 기조인 '민생온(On, 溫), 기본업(Up)'을 바탕으로 한 3대 시정 목표를 제시했다.

첫째, 대한민국 기본사회 선도 도시 건설을 통해 시민의 기본권이 보장되는 촘촘한 복지망을 구축하고, 둘째, 대규모 산단 및 인프라 확충을 통한 100만 자족도시로의 신속한 진입, 셋째, 파주만의 자원을 활용한 수도권 문화·생태휴양 메카 건설이 그것이다.

시는 각 읍면동별 맞춤형 현안을 공유하며 파주 전체의 유기적인 발전 방향을 제시하는 데 주력했다.

설명회에 이어 진행된 '이동시장실'에는 파주시 실·국·소·본부장들이 전원 참석해 정책 전문성을 더했다. 

실무 책임자들이 직접 시민의 질문에 답하고 해결 방안을 모색하는 방식에 참석자들의 호응이 이어졌다.

자유 토론 시간에는 총 250여 건의 다양한 건의사항이 제시됐다. 

주요 내용으로는 △주차시설 부족 및 버스·천원택시 확대 등 교통 문제 △노인 복지 서비스 확대 △미군 반환공여지 및 군 유휴지 활용 방안 △체육·주민 편의시설 확충 등 시민 생활과 직결된 현안들이 주를 이뤘다.

파주시는 이번 이동시장실을 통해 접수된 의견을 부서별로 면밀히 검토한 뒤 제안자에게 개별적으로 조치 계획을 안내할 예정이다. 

특히 실현 가능성이 높고 파급력이 큰 우수 제안은 올해 예산 편성 및 사업 계획에 적극 반영한다는 방침이다.

Paju Mayor Kim Kyung-il has completed a large-scale communication campaign to share his 2026 city administration vision with citizens and directly hear their voices.

Paju City announced the successful conclusion of the "2026 City Administration Plan Briefing Session and Mobile Mayor's Office," which toured 20 townships and districts, starting with Jangdan-myeon on January 26th and ending with Gyoha-dong on February 6th.

Despite the midwinter cold, approximately 1,000 citizens attended, demonstrating keen interest in Paju's future.

At this briefing, Mayor Kim Kyung-il presented three major city administration goals based on the core principles of the 8th elected Paju City administration: "On (溫) the people's livelihood and Up (八) the basic business."

First, by building a leading city in the Republic of Korea's basic society, we will establish a dense welfare network that guarantees citizens' basic rights. Second, we will rapidly achieve a self-sufficient city of one million people through large-scale industrial complexes and infrastructure expansion. Third, we will build a cultural and ecological recreation hub in the metropolitan area, leveraging Paju's unique resources.

The city focused on sharing customized issues for each town, township, and neighborhood, and presenting a direction for organic development for Paju as a whole.

Following the briefing session, the "Mobile Mayor's Office" was held, with all Paju City officials, bureaus, sub-divisions, and headquarters attending to add policy expertise.

Attendees responded positively to the way working-level officials directly answered citizens' questions and explored solutions.

A total of 250 diverse suggestions were raised during the open discussion session.

Key topics included transportation issues such as parking shortages and the expansion of buses and 1,000-won taxis, expansion of senior welfare services, utilization of returned US military land and idle military land, and expansion of sports and community facilities.

Paju City plans to carefully review the opinions received through the Mobile Mayor's Office by department and individually inform proposers of their action plans.

In particular, excellent proposals with high feasibility and significant impact will be actively reflected in this year's budget allocation and business plans.
