경기북부보훈지청이 설 명절을 앞두고 돌봄이 필요한 취약계층 국가유공자를 직접 찾아가 따뜻한 손길을 전했다.

지청은 지난 4일 '찾아가는 보훈, 따뜻한 한 끼' 행사를 실시하고, 관내 취약계층 국가유공자 8가구를 방문해 위문품과 도시락을 전달했다고 밝혔다.

박용주 지청장은 이날 구리 지역에 거주하는 김 모 어르신 댁을 직접 방문해 도시락을 전달하고 생활 여건을 살피며 명절 인사를 나눴다.

도시락을 전달받은 김 어르신은 "명절마다 혼자 보내는 시간이 많아 쓸쓸했는데, 이렇게 직접 찾아와 챙겨주니 큰 위로가 된다"며 "도시락뿐만 아니라 따뜻한 마음까지 함께 전해져 감사하다"고 소감을 밝혔다.
