파주시가 설 명절을 맞아 전통시장을 찾는 시민들의 장보기 편의를 높이기 위해 시장 주변 도로에 한시적 주차를 허용한다.

시는 5일 "오는 18일까지 14일간 금촌시장과 문산시장 인근 도로에서 주차를 허용해 이용객 편의를 높이고 위축된 지역 상권에 활력을 불어넣겠다"고 밝혔다.

이번 주차 허용 대상은 시민들이 많이 찾는 관내 주요 전통시장 2곳이다.

금촌시장의 경우 금촌농협 로컬푸드 직매장 인근 330m 구간에서, 문산시장은 농산물품질관리원부터 문산펌프장 앞 도로 구간에서 주차가 가능하다.

시는 이번 조치로 명절을 앞두고 장을 보러 나선 시민들의 주차난이 상당 부분 해소될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

다만 보행자 안전과 직결되는 '6대 불법 주정차 금지구역'은 이번 허용 대상에서 제외되며, 평소와 같이 엄격히 단속된다.

단속 대상은 △횡단보도 및 정지선 침범 △소화전 반경 5m 이내 △버스정류소 좌우 10m 이내 △교차로 모퉁이 5m 이내 △어린이보호구역(초등학교 정문 앞 도로) △보도 위 주정차 등이다.

이들 구역은 주민신고제에 의한 즉시 신고 대상이 될 수 있어 각별한 주의가 필요하다.
