파주시 파주읍 이장협의회와 영구건설㈜이 화재로 집을 잃은 주민을 돕기 위해 팔을 걷어붙였다.

파주읍은 지난 2일 파주읍 이장협의회와 영구건설㈜이 파주읍 행정복지센터를 방문해 성금 400만 원을 전달했다고 밝혔다.

이번 성금은 지난해 12월 24일 파주읍 봉암리에서 발생한 화재로 거주하던 주택이 전소되는 피해를 입은 주민을 돕기 위해 마련됐다.

파주읍 이장협의회가 뜻을 모아 성금 300만 원을 마련했으며, 이 소식을 접한 영구건설㈜ 이용길 대표가 100만 원을 보태 총 400만 원이 전달됐다.

파주읍 이장협의회는 성금 전달뿐만 아니라 화재 직후 장비를 동원해 전소된 주택 내부 시설과 폐기물을 정리하는 등 신속한 복구 지원에도 나섰다.

박경덕 파주읍 이장협의회장은 "예기치 못한 화재로 어려움을 겪고 있는 주민에게 작게나마 보탬이 되길 바란다"며 피해 주민에게 위로의 뜻을 전했다.

장연희 파주읍장은 "이웃의 아픔을 함께 나누고 온정의 손길을 나눠준 파주읍 이장협의회에 깊이 감사드린다"며 "피해 가구가 빠르게 일상을 회복할 수 있도록 다양한 지원을 아끼지 않겠다"고 말했다.
