파주시가 다가오는 2026년 설 명절을 앞두고 농축수산물의 안전한 유통을 위한 특별점검에 나선다.

파주시는 2월 2일부터 13일까지 관내 농축수산물 판매업체를 대상으로 원산지 표시 이행 여부를 집중 점검하고, 수산물 안전성 검사도 병행 실시한다고 밝혔다.

이번 점검은 명절 기간 소비가 집중되는 제수용품과 선물용품을 중심으로 진행된다. 

중점 점검 품목은 명태, 조기, 고등어, 오징어 등 수산물과 과일, 곡물, 나물류 등 제수용품, 과일·축산물 꾸러미 등 선물용품이다.

점검 대상은 관내 제조·유통·판매업체와 전통시장, 대형마트 등이며, 원산지 표시 여부와 혼동 표시, 이중 표시 여부를 확인한다. 

또한 판매업체의 원산지 표시 사항과 거래명세표의 일치 여부도 점검할 예정이다.

아울러 파주시에서 유통·판매되는 수산물을 대상으로 방사능 등 안전성 검사도 실시한다. 

시료를 수거해 검사기관에 의뢰하며, 규정 수치 초과 시 즉시 회수 및 폐기 처분할 계획이다.

원산지 표시 위반 시에는 엄정한 처벌이 뒤따른다. 

원산지를 거짓으로 표시할 경우 7년 이하 징역 또는 1억 원 이하 벌금이 부과되며, 원산지를 표시하지 않거나 표시 방법을 위반할 경우 5만 원 이상 1천만 원 이하 과태료가 부과된다. 

시는 주요 위반 업소에 대해서는 사법당국 고발 조치도 불사할 방침이다.

김은희 파주시농업기술센터소장은 "설 명절을 앞두고 농축수산물 원산지 표시 위반 행위를 사전에 차단해 소비자가 안심하고 제수용품을 구매할 수 있도록 특별점검을 실시할 것"이라며 "앞으로도 투명하고 공정한 유통 질서를 확립해 시민들의 먹거리 안전을 최우선으로 지켜나가겠다"고 밝혔다.
