파주시가 일산운정벧엘교회로부터 관내 저소득층과 사회복지시설을 위한 대규모 후원을 받았다.

파주시는 4일 일산운정벧엘교회(담임목사 박광석)로부터 총 4,450만 원 상당의 후원금과 후원물품을 전달받았다고 밝혔다. 

이번 후원은 성금 2,400만 원과 후원물품 2,050만 원 상당으로 구성됐다.

이날 전달식에는 최병갑 파주시 부시장을 비롯해 일산운정벧엘교회 허덕순 장로 등 관계자들이 참석했다.

전달된 성금은 사회복지시설 및 단체 9개소에 900만 원이 직접 전달되고, 저소득 아동 50가구에는 생활지원금 1,500만 원이 지원될 예정이다. 

또한 저소득 독거노인과 장애인 가구에는 쌀(10kg) 410포와 성도들이 직접 담근 김장김치 2,064kg이 함께 전달된다.

허덕순 장로는 "섬김과 나눔으로 그리스도의 사랑을 전하기 위해 성금과 후원물품을 기탁했다"며 "지역사회의 돌봄이 필요한 이웃들이 따뜻한 겨울을 보낼 수 있기를 소망한다"고 전했다.

최병갑 파주시 부시장은 "해마다 기부와 나눔에 앞장선 일산운정벧엘교회에 감사드린다"며 "소중한 기부가 지역사회에 희망의 온기를 전할 것"이라고 화답했다.

한편, 일산운정벧엘교회는 2018년 재단법인 대한예수교장로회 벧엘교회유지재단을 설립해 취약계층을 위한 장학금 지원, 김장김치 나눔 등 다양한 사회 공헌활동을 펼치고 있다. 

특히 파주시에 2016년부터 10년 연속 기부활동을 이어가며 지역사회 나눔 문화 확산에 앞장서고 있다.

Paju City received a large-scale donation from Ilsan Unjeong Bethel Church for low-income families and social welfare facilities in the city.

Paju City announced on the 4th that it received a total of ₩44.5 million in donations and supplies from Ilsan Unjeong Bethel Church (Senior Pastor Park Gwang-seok).

This donation comprised ₩24 million in donations and ₩20.5 million in supplies.

The donation ceremony was attended by Paju City Vice Mayor Choi Byeong-gap, Elder Heo Deok-sun of Ilsan Unjeong Bethel Church, and other officials.

The donation will directly provide ₩9 million to nine social welfare facilities and organizations, and ₩15 million in living expenses to 50 families with low-income children.

Additionally, 410 10kg bags of rice and 2,064kg of kimchi, made by church members, will be delivered to low-income seniors living alone and households with disabilities.

Elder Heo Deok-sun said, "We donated money and supplies to spread the love of Christ through service and sharing. We hope that our neighbors in need in the community will have a warm winter."

Meanwhile, Ilsan Unjeong Bethel Church established the Bethel Church Maintenance Foundation of the Presbyterian Church of Korea in 2018 and has been carrying out various social contribution activities, including scholarships for the underprivileged and kimchi sharing.

In particular, the company has been leading the way in spreading a culture of sharing in the local community by continuing donation activities in Paju City for 10 consecutive years since 2016.
